1 APPLICATION PACK Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House Housed in one of Australia s most prominent national heritage listed buildings, the Museum of Australian Democracy (MoAD) at Old Parliament House was the first museum in Australia dedicated to telling the story of the journey of our democracy. It seeks to provide a range of innovative exhibitions, tours, interpretation, education programs and public activities that will inspire and challenge visitors to explore democracy from its ancient roots to the present day and possible futures. The role oversees, develops and delivers strategies across the agency to increase awareness, attendance, revenue and to enhance the Museums brand. As Head Communications and Partnerships, you will work across the agency to manage and enhance our existing external relationships and to secure and build new relationships. You will identify and package partnership and sponsorship opportunities and will cultivate prospective partners and manage stakeholder events. The role will work closely with our senior management team to identify in-kind and financial partners including corporate sponsors, trusts and foundations, private donors or philanthropists and government. This role will develop and deliver consistent and effective strategic communications with government and key stakeholders and oversee communication and media activities for internal and external stakeholders.

3 Key Attributes Leadership and management abilities of a high order together with a high level of achievement orientation, strategic thinking and analytical skills A high level of motivation, initiative, judgment and commitment, together with a demonstrated ability to manage workloads and priorities to meet organisational objectives Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of promotional and communication strategies and the management of communication activities. Highly developed oral and written skills together with a high level of demonstrated negotiation, interpersonal networking and representational skills Demonstrated capacity to use creative and innovative ideas and lateral approaches in delivering agreed outcomes on time and within budget, particularly relating to new and emerging technology Experience in the marketing and communications areas is essential. Cultural sector experience preferred. Duties Communications Develop the policy and guidelines for all internal and external communications aligned with the brand Manage and oversee all aspects of internal and external communications in line with the policy and guidelines Develop risk mitigation strategies as part of core communication and marketing activities. Brand and Marketing Develop, communicate, implement and monitor the Museums audience-driven branding and positioning strategy Develop and implement marketing campaigns, monitor, evaluate and report on outcomes. Ensure transparent delivery against milestones and targets Develop and implement marketing strategy to support audience retention, incorporating multiple channels, including digital Manage all aspects of the brand, ensuring all external facing activities are compliant with the brand including; the website, social media accounts, written materials such as briefings, presentations and reports Mange the marketing activities incorporating public relations, direct marketing, new media and digital, advertising and sponsorships and memberships.

4 Evaluation Lead the development of effective framework and processes for evaluation of visitor activities including gathering audience insights and analysing / identifying key trends Ensure that key findings from audience insights are incorporated in management decision-making both strategic and operational. Stakeholder Management Develop and implement the overarching strategy for stakeholder management Develop and implement plans and events focused on strengthening existing partnerships and identify and pursue new partnership opportunities Develop prospectuses for key initiatives to establish donor base to contribute to philanthropic targets Ensure systematic and regular scanning of the stakeholder landscape and evaluation of key stakeholder relationships and highlight key stakeholder management risks Coordinate and evaluate outcomes of partnerships and events and monitor market trends on an ongoing basis to ensure service offering/initiative remains competitive.
