7 COMMUNICATION Communication is essential to building relationships that create trust, open dialog and transparency, and engaging employees with a compelling mission and vision. Using the 3 Key Principles of Communication The strongest predictor of employee retention is the quality of the employee-manager relationship, according to the Gallup organization, and a major component of that relationship is the way a manager communicates. This Leadership training module explains and demonstrates the company's preferred communication style principles and practices--what to do and what to avoid! During the training, participants have an opportunity to practice 1) demonstrating respect, 2) listening carefully and demonstrating understanding, and 3) asking for help in solving a problem in a small-group format. Duration: 1.5 hours Inspiring Trust Duration: 2 two-hour sessions Franklin Covey's Inspiring Trust workshop teaches those in leadership positions why building a high -trust work environment is Cost: $78 per person essential for its power to increase speed and reduce operating costs, which drives profits up. Designed for leaders, this abbreviated yet actionable overview of "The Speed of Trust" teaches participants to 1) Build and enhance personal credibility and trustworthiness by identifying opportunities to improve and/or demonstrate integrity, intent, professional capabilities and business results. 2) Use the 13 Behaviors of High Trust to build, enhance, and repair relationship trust. 3) Identify ways to build a more credible, trustworthy team and work environment. 4) Write a 21-day and 90-day trust-building and partner-accountability action plan. 8 Leading Effective Meetings and Conference Calls Learn the common types and purposes of meetings or conference calls, and how to make sure your meetings stay on track, on time, and on target. The training will address having an effective agenda and desired outcome, how to recognize and avoid "meeting robbers" and how to conclude a meeting to maximize results. Duration: One or more 1 hour sessions based on participant needs Delivery Method: One or more 1 hour sessions based on participant needs Creating and Using Effective Store and Market Game Plans This session will show and explain how to develop an effective short-term, mid- and long-term goals and project plans for each store and store manager using the 5 core competencies of a store manager: Sales, Service, Staffing, Operations, and High -Quality Work Environment. Participants develop actual game plans for their stores and receive feedback on their defined goals given the store's performance. Participants will be prepared to share their plans with their ZVP and others. 10 5 Steps of Mastering Workflow (GTD Level 1: Fundamentals), with Installation and Implementation (I&I) Labs The Fundamentals level builds the foundation for learners to put GTD into play. There are two components, the primer course and the I&I sessions. This level focuses on the key models for: Capturing everything that requires a decision into leak -proof collection tools; Deciding the nature of the input and what needs to be done about it; Creating trusted organizational categories for tracking projects, actions, and reference; Developing supportive processes to stay clear and current on a regular basis; Executing on trusted choices about what to do including breaking through procrastination and effectively managing priorities. When implemented, participants develop habitual behaviors that maintain day -to-day control: capturing stuff into external locations; processing in to empty consistently; applying the two-minute rule for actionable work; simplifying and breaking down vague projects and tough tasks into tangible next actions and clear desired outcomes; tracking actions contextually; getting and keeping under control; delegating and tracking deliverables appropriately; setting up and maintaining a functioning reference system; attending to interruptions effectively and re-focusing their attention on what matters; regaining control and perspective in high stress and overwhelming periods. Includes participant workbook, copy of "Getting Things Done" book, job aides, and online and resource documents. Using the included 360-assessment tool, participants discover their leadership strengths and development opportunities, and select specific behavioral strategies to practice that will increase their leadership skills the most. Through discussions, action plans based on 100+ strategies, goal sharing, and deliberate practice, participants support each other's development. Recruiting and Interviewing Skills for Multi -Unit Managers This session will explain and show our Applicant Tracking System, the best practices for in-person recruiting techniques, and how to use Behavioral Interviewing (process and resources) to select and hire the best people for your team and our company. Duration: 1 1/2 hours Developing Effective Teams This session explores the core leadership skills of Strategy, Action, and Results from "Leadership 2.0." Strategy Talent hits a target that no one else can hit, but genius hits a target no one else can see. Strategy is knowing how to look ahead, spot the trends, and anticipate the course of action you will follow to maximize your success. Action An idea is a curious thing; it will not work unless you do. For most leaders, desire is not the factor that holds them back; it s knowing how to execute. Results It s a myth that hard work is enough to achieve results. Far too often obstacles are thrown in a leader s path that require a special set of skills to reach the finish line.
