Our vision is to support people to thrive and create communities where everyone belongs. MCC is delivering the NDIS Local Area Coordination (LAC) Transition Services on the Mid North Coast on behalf of the NDIS Partner, Social Futures. These services will: provide support for people with disability and their families to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (the Scheme); assist people with disability, their families and carers to build and pursue their goals for a good life, exercise choice and control and engage with the Scheme; and ensure that people with disability can be supported outside the Scheme by working with communities and mainstream services to build awareness and to become more inclusive of the range of needs and aspirations of people with disability. The Workplace Trainer will be responsible for organising Local Area Coordination staff to attend initial training provided by the NDIA and for the delivery of subsequent training. Ongoing training and professional development of staff, including the management of personnel who do not meet the required competency will be the responsibility of the Workplace Trainer. This position will ensure a culture of continuous learning and actively support a mobile workforce by providing structured and unstructured education, development plans and training. The Workplace Trainer will be required to provide training within short timeframes whilst also provide training and education on best practice, continuous quality improvement and high quality services. Key Responsibilities and Duties Key Responsibilities 1 Provide and coordinate effective LAC Service Delivery training. Focus Areas Attend Train the Trainer training provided by the NDIA Train and support all staff in line with NDIA training requirements Work with NDIA, Team Leaders and Managers to facilitate ongoing skills development and knowledge acquisition required to deliver LAC services Apply NDIA competency framework to assess and certify Local Area Coordinators Undertake skills analysis and training needs assessment of all LACs to determine competency requirements, ongoing professional development, mentoring or learning and implement appropriate training program Assess training effectiveness to ensure application of skills and techniques meets requirements Coordinate or host LAC specific Communities of Practice 2 Ensure appropriate compliance and quality control of LAC Coordination Services. 3 Actively contribute to team and organisational culture. Develop and implement a schedule for ongoing and follow-up training and assessment to ensure LAC staff meet competency requirements within timeframes, including implementation of appropriate assessment tools Assess and certify to NDIA the successful completion of competency training by all relevant LAC staff Facilitate induction training to ensure staff are aware of organisational Policies and Procedures Keep up to date with changes in legislation Undertake competency assessment and corrective action where underperformance is identified Be an active and contributing team member modelling the values of the Scheme and organisation Integrate elements of LAC training into Mid Coast Communities shared learning culture Work with LAC Service Manager/s to transfer and extend skills development from LAC across other teams working with people with disabilities Attend relevant meetings including: team meetings, supervision and performance reviews Regularly seek, respond to, and be open to learn from feedback and suggestions for improvement, including participating in training and development opportunities Page 2 of 6

Competencies, Skills and Attributes Technical 1. Certificate IV or above in Workplace Assessment and Training (or equivalent) 2. Current National Police Check 3. Current Working with Children Check 4. Current valid Driver Licence Experience and Knowledge 1. Lived experience and / or well-developed understanding of social inclusion, the enabling factors and barriers to social inclusion for people with disability, their families and carers 2. Demonstrated high level IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office products and operation of computers and tablets 3. Excellent oral and written communications skills 4. Demonstrated problem solving and the capacity to generate innovative solutions 5. Knowledge of adult learning principles 6. Demonstrated ability to facilitate training and measure training effectiveness 7. Demonstrated competence in preparing compliance based reports 8. Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to diversity issues and recognises own triggers, biases, beliefs and does not allow them to interfere with job performance Attributes and Values 1.
