We provide services in more than 36 locations, ranging from the inner-city and suburbs to regional and remote parts of Australia. Our vision is for full citizenship for all people living with a mental illness in Australian society. Our mission is to improve mental health and wellbeing in local communities across the country. We believe that recovery is an individual process and that with the right kind of support everyone can live a life based on their own strengths, values and goals for the future. We use an approach called the Collaborative Recovery Model (CRM) to support people through our services. The CRM assists individuals to identify their personal strengths and values, to set goals and then helps them make progress towards achieving them. We are a smoke free organisation. Position overview The key responsibility of this role is to provide and assess training and to provide support to users of Neami s client management and Riskman systems. Other aspects of the role include reviewing and developing training materials, logging of support requests, encouraging best practice in the use of the database as well as user account maintenance. 2 Period of employment Ongoing, subject to a 3-month probationary period. Accountability The Database Training and Support Officer is accountable to the Senior Training and Support Officer. Conditions of employment The terms and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Neami National Employment Agreement Corporate Support Services Level 3: $55,191 - $59,237 depending on skills and experience. A number of benefits are available to all staff, including generous salary packaging, increasing the take home wage by more than $7,000 pa. Criminal record checks are mandatory for all new appointments. Neami National will cover the cost of an Australian check. Where a new employee has lived outside of Australia for 12 months or more within the last 10 years, the cost of an International check will be borne by the applicant (~$129.00). 3 Section C: key responsibilities Support and Training Take responsibility for managing and tracking requests for support related to the consumer database (Carelink) and Riskman systems Take ownership of issues and ensure staff are able to continue their work as swiftly as possible Manage requests from initial report to ultimate resolution. For issues that cannot be resolved, escalate to team leader Create and maintain database user accounts, ensuring staff have the correct levels of database access for their role Ensure existing training and support documentation is appropriate and where necessary make recommendations to develop further materials to assist users with specific database or desktop application functions When required, provide one to one and small group training sessions in the use of Neami National s database systems. Ensure all new staff and act-up roles are trained in systems to the level required for their role and their progress and assessment is tracked and linked to their system permission. Make recommendations for follow-up or remedial training where required and manage permissions accordingly Based on support and training requests, make recommendations for updates to training materials, FAQs and the knowledge store Support coordination of training session requirements, facility hire and other resources as needed Support the Carelink Team in day to day administrative tasks Participate fully as a team member Participate in Service Development and Carelink+ team meetings and initiatives Work collaboratively with the Carelink+ Team Communication and organisational skills Use effective, clear and positive communication to work with key stake holders at all levels of the organisation Actively foster a positive and enthusiastic organisational culture Comply with all Neami policies and procedures, the Neami Code of Ethics, and participate in regular supervision with the Manager, Service Development 3 of 7

A brief history of Neami National Neami was formed in 1986, initially advocating for service development for services to consumers in Melbourne s northern suburbs. During the early 1990s, Neami worked in partnership with other community groups and the Victorian Department of Health to plan the relocation of consumers from long stay psychiatric hospitals to the community. Neami grew substantially during this time, and by 2000 it became the primary provider of rehabilitation and support services to people with a mental illness in the northern region of Melbourne. In furthering Neami s commitment to become the leading mental health services provider nationally, Neami expanded across the Victorian border in and commenced delivering a range of state-funded rehabilitation and support services in South Australia and NSW. Strong partnerships were developed with clinical mental health teams and other community groups, and rapid growth continued in the two years that followed. Between 2007 and 2009, with the addition of a number of federally funded programs, Neami further broadened its reach by establishing services in Western Australia and Queensland. Following substantial interstate growth, Neami secured additional funding in Victoria in to further expand and diversify its current services to include a homelessness Assertive Outreach program in NSW and sub-acute Prevention and Recovery Care service in the northern suburbs of Melbourne saw expansion in WA with the introduction of Individual Community Living and Support Packages. Most recently, Neami successfully tendered for Mental Health Sub-acute Services in Joondalup (WA), Dubbo and Broken Hill (NSW). These services were established in early of 7

A growing organisation Neami National has an exciting growth rate with increasing federal and state government funding, we have expanded in size from 500 to 2500 consumers accessing our service within the past ten years, resulting in employee numbers growing from 50 to over 500 staff. This growth has increased our operating budget to more than $40 million. This has allowed Neami National to grow to 13 Services in NSW, 6 in SA, 3 in WA, 2 in QLD, and 12 in Victoria, and we foster ambitious growth plans for the future. 3. A learning organisation Neami National has had a long-standing commitment to continuous improvement, training and development across the organisation, and was accredited by the Quality Improvement Council of Australia in 2004, 2007, 2010 and Neami National achieved high ratings in the three core standards of: Incorporating and Contribution to Good Practice, Human Resources, and Finance. As part of its commitment to ongoing learning and development, Neami National has reviewed and improved its Induction and Orientation program for new staff, developed targeted training, and further developed its Leadership Development Program. Alongside this, the Service Development team has supported the implementation of the Collaborative Recovery Model across all services. The Research Committee is hard at work developing a range of activities, from outcome measures, to consumer participation, to checking our fidelity with the Collaborative Recovery Model. 4. A well regarded organisation Neami National has a distinguished reputation, and is highly regarded nationally by the NGO Mental Health, the clinical, and the community and housing sectors. The organisation is a member of the Mental Health Council of Australia, VICSERV Committee of Management in Victoria, the Mental Health Coordinating Council of NSW, and the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia. The CEO is currently the Chair, Audit and Compliance Committee of the Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA) and a Director of Housing Choices Australia and Crisis Support Services in Victoria. 5.
