3 HABC Level 3 Certificate in Management (QCF) Introduction This Qualification Specification is designed to outline all you need to know in order to offer this qualification in your Centre. If you have any further questions, please contact your Account Manager. Qualification Details The HABC Level 3 Certificate in Management (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is supported by the Standard Setting Body, Council for Administration (CFA). Key facts QAN: 600/5172/3 Learning Aim Reference: Guided learning hours (GLH): 130 Credit Value: 13 Assessment Method: Portfolio of evidence Qualification Overview This qualification provides learners with the knowledge required to work in a management role. Entry Requirements It is advised that learners have a basic level of English skills before enrolling onto this qualification. Age ranges This qualification is approved for delivery to the age ranges and 19+. Geographical Coverage This qualification is suitable for learners in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. Special Needs HABC have measures in place for learners with special needs. Please see the Reasonable Adjustments Policy Annex 17 of the HABC Core Manual. 3

4 Qualification Structure This qualification is made up of mandatory and optional units. Learners must achieve a minimum of 13 credits by achieving: all mandatory units, totalling 7 credits a minimum of 6 credits from the optional group a minimum of 10 credits must be at level 3 Details of all units and Rules of Combination are included at the end of this specification document Assessment Guidance This qualification is assessed through completion of a portfolio of evidence, which will be internally quality assured by the Centre. EQS (External Quality Support) visits from HABC will also take place until direct claim status is achieved. Suggested paperwork is available on the HABC website. If a Centre would like to use alternative paperwork, this must be sent to the Quality Support team for approval before commencement of the course. Following the assessment, a list of results will be provided to the Centre Contacts stating whether learners have passed or failed. Certificates for those who are successful will be dispatched for distribution by the Centre Contacts. Assessor Requirements All Assessor requirements for this qualification are outlined in the Assessment Strategy, which is available on the HABC website and must be referred to. This includes that approved Assessors must: Hold or be working towards an Assessor qualification Have sufficient knowledge of current practice and emerging issues in Management across organisations and industries Have sufficient, relevant experience and working knowledge of the operational, assessment and verification processes specifically for the Level 3 Certificate in Management Internal Quality Assurance This qualification is assessed and Internally Quality Assured. The minimum requirements for IQA for this qualification are that the Internal Quality Assurance person is occupationally competent and experienced in the area they are quality assuring. The IQA person must also hold or be working towards an IV qualification. Examples of this include: V1 Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Mapping to National Occupational Standards Details of NOS mapping is contained at the end of each unit, where applicable. 4

5 ID requirements It is the responsibility of the centre to have systems in place to ensure that the person taking an assessment is indeed the person they are claiming to be. 6 Appendix 1: Rules of Combination and All Units In order to achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Management, learners must achieve a minimum of 13 credits overall.
