2 Position Purpose The purpose of the Volunteer Coordinator is to coordinate the House & Family Room volunteer program, including facilitating the recruitment and on-boarding of volunteers and being the key point of contact for prospective and current volunteers. This role is also the key point of contact for Family Room enquiries. Key Responsibilities / Tasks Measured by Lead and manage volunteers, ensuring they provide a high level of assistance to families and adhere to operating protocols and guidelines. Support the development and implementation of volunteer recruitment and on-boarding strategies for the House Chapter Work with the Volunteer & Family Room to recruit volunteers for the House and Family Room as operationally required Liaise with the House on the requirements of the Volunteer Program for the House Ensure volunteer on-boarding is completed and regular learning & development opportunities are made available to all Chapter volunteers Developing relationships with Nursing Unit s and other hospital staff to promote the Ronald McDonald Family Room and ensure families are aware of the room facilities Develop partnerships with organisations and tertiary institutions to promote volunteer opportunities and attract volunteers to the Chapter Ensure volunteer related RMHC policies and practices are implemented and adhered to Ensure all House Chapter volunteers are rewarded and recognised annually Ensure the volunteer rostering meets the operational needs of the House and Family Room Keep accurate records by utilising a volunteer management system to store volunteer information, manage recruitment, keep track of volunteer hours, service, working with children checks, birthdays and regular communication Managing administration processes and meeting operational reporting requirements of the House Chapter Contribute to risk mitigation across people risks including health & safety, child protection and HR/IR related risk Volunteers feel valued and engaged, measured by regular surveys and feedback mechanisms Volunteers are able to carry out their role & assigned duties to the required standards of the organisation. Regular recruitment and on-boarding of volunteers, following the recruitment & onboarding strategies Volunteer retention Reward & recognition program for volunteers is carried year-to-year Regular training opportunities held for volunteer learning & development, reviewed & evaluated annually Contribute to risk mitigation activities associated with volunteers including the Child Protection framework compliance Keep accurate records and report on volunteer numbers and hours as requested Positive feedback from families on their experience utilising the House & Family Room Meeting operational reporting requirements and effectively utilising RMHC systems RMHC Success Profile Volunteer Coordinator Page 2

3 Additional Requirements for this position: - Act as a Child Protection Officer in line with RMHC policies and practices - Current Driver s License - Some interstate travel may be required - At times, out of hours work will be required - Willingness to work across multiple House & Family Room locations Knowledge, - Other duties Skills as and required Education from time-to-time Qualifications & Training Essential: Experience Essential: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in community services & development, human resource management or other related discipline Experience in a Human Resources or Volunteer Recruitment position or equivalent Desirable: Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector Knowledge of the National Standards of Volunteer Involvement Competencies related to a Coordinator role Competency Description Behavioural Indicators of a Coordinator Family Focused Leadership & Decision Making Communication Commitment to identify families needs and continually seek to provide the highest quality programs and services in meeting these needs.
