Specifically it will: Introduce systems development methodologies and tools, and provide a theoretical and practical grasp of database technology which is fundamental to the production of management information Provide students with a basic grounding in the principles and practices of Operations Management as they apply to both service and manufacturing organisations. LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the end of the module students should be able to : Subject specific: Participate as a member of a team in a systems development project Develop simple microcomputer database applications for individual use Produce a report presenting management information extracted from a database using a query. Apply models of business processes and the supply chain, and understand the role of Operations Management in achieving customer satisfaction and competitiveness;
