1 Mapping Matrix Information for the Assessor Purpose and Structure of the Mapping Matrix is a process of gathering over time. The Mapping Matrix is designed to assist you, the assessor, to analyse the as it is gathered and make a judgement as to whether is sufficient at each stage in the process. Each table in the matrix lists all of the unit requirements: There are 5 columns in the Mapping Matrix that match the instruments in this RPL Tool. The checkboxes reflect the internal in each of the assessment instruments. Where the cell is greyed out, the instrument does not map to that specific unit requirement. We strongly recommend that you complete the Mapping Matrix at each stage in the gathering process. This will enable you to make a judgement as to whether is sufficient, or whether more is required. In order to confirm competency in a unit, there should be at least one tick in each of the rows. It is not necessary to tick all of the checkboxes in order to make a judgement of competency. There is a comments section at the bottom of each unit table where you can record your decision and your reasons for the decision. Note: The decision as to whether the candidate is competent remains with you, the assessor, on the basis of your expert and qualified judgement. The above recommendations are only a guide. 3 RS 3 literacy skills to: read and interpret Acts, regulations, codes of practice, policies and procedures prepare reports for a range of target groups including health and safety committees, health and safety representatives, managers, supervisors, persons conducting businesses or undertakings (PCBUs)/officers Required Knowledge RK 1 duties, rights and obligations of individuals and parties as specified in relevant WHS and where this information is located in WHS RK 2 internal and external sources of WHS information and data, and how to access these sources RK 3 objectives and principles underpinning WHS RK 4 RK 5 relevant commonwealth and state/territory WHS Acts, regulations, codes of practice, standards and guidance material, and other relevant publications systematic approaches to managing and complying with WHS CAE 1 CAE 2 CAE 3 assisting with providing advice about the WHS legal and regulatory framework and other relevant, either in an actual workplace, simulation exercise or scenario products developed for the provision of advice on WHS legal compliance issues (such as a training needs analysis, talks, briefings, training sessions, guidance and advice, paper or electronic materials) of how these products were developed and used either in an actual workplace, simulation exercise or scenario.
