1 ADMISSIONS, RECRUITMENT AND MARKETING SERVICE RECRUITMENT AND OUTREACH DEPARTMENT The Post Recruitment Events Manager Ref: ALC669 A creative, experienced, hard-working and self-driven Event Manager is required to manage the Recruitment Events and Enrichment teams within the Recruitment and Outreach department at UEA. The post-holder will take a lead role in meeting growth targets outlined in the UEA Plan. The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of all on campus student recruitment events from conception to delivery, they will be required to think innovatively and work collaboratively with colleagues across UEA to ensure the successful delivery of these events. Job Description A job description is attached as Appendix A. The precise duties will be agreed in discussion with the Manager. Person Specification The person specification for this post is attached as Appendix B. GENERAL Salary Salary will be 32,004 to 38,183 per annum, on Grade 7 on the single salary spine. The normal expectation is that starting salary will be at the minimum of the advertised salary scale. Starting Date The post is available immediately on an indefinite full-time basis.

2 Terms and Conditions of Appointment Full details of terms and conditions of employment for Administrative, Library and Computing (ALC) Staff will be made available to the candidate to whom the appointment is offered. Relocation Expenses Relocation expenses are reimbursable under certain conditions. Residence The University is strongly committed to providing an excellent student experience and research environment, and it is expected that all staff will be available on campus to carry out their duties during the working week in support of these goals. Absences for significant periods are by agreement with the Head of School or Head of Division. Annual Leave Entitlement There is an annual holiday entitlement of six weeks plus statutory (8 days) and customary (6 days) holidays. Superannuation The post is superannuable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme. Disclosure and Barring Service This appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service. 5 JOB DESCRIPTION REF: ALC669 APPENDIX A Job Title: Recruitment Events Manager Grade: Grade 7 Department: Recruitment and Outreach Department Reporting to: Assistant Head of Recruitment (UK/EU) Responsible for: Recruitment Events Team / Enrichment Team PURPOSE OF ROLE A creative, experienced, hard-working and self-driven Event Manager is required to manage the Recruitment Events and Enrichment teams within the Recruitment and Outreach department at UEA. The post-holder will take a lead role in meeting growth targets outlined in the UEA 2016/2020 Plan. The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of all on campus student recruitment events from conception to delivery, they will be required to think innovatively and work collaboratively with colleagues across UEA to ensure the successful delivery of these events. As well as ensuring the smooth delivery of existing recruitment events, the role holder will be expected to review and develop the strategy for the delivery of events in the future. Although based in the Recruitment and Outreach Department the role holder will liaise closely with the admissions and marketing teams and academic colleagues across the University to ensure involvement and engagement with our prospective students. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Overall responsibility for the end-to-end management (including strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation) of a series of on campus, large scale student recruitment events Close liaison with the marketing team to ensure recruitment events are correctly branded and marketed using the most appropriate channels To ensure we are delivering sector leading student recruitment events including open days, applicant days, an annual teachers conference, UCAS Norfolk HE convention, subject summer schools, academic taster sessions and a lecture series Identify opportunities to continually evolve and innovate the current offering of events to help UEA reach its overall admissions targets Acting as a brand ambassador for the university at events in person. Produce statistical reports reflecting registration, attendance and conversion figures to offer insight to the Senior Leadership Team on the events Suggest creative and innovative ideas for new recruitment events and implement these where possible Create a target-driven environment and motivate the team to achieve the vision and objectives outlined in the Recruitment Events and Enrichment strategies

6 To line manage the Recruitment Events and Enrichment teams and promulgate good practice in academic administration in the recruitment events area and to monitor the quality of administrative services to ensure that they are of the highest standards in accordance with the appropriate University guidelines and procedures To recruit, manage, train and appraise staff as agreed with the Head of Recruitment and Outreach and the Director of Admissions, Recruitment and Marketing in accordance with employment procedures and regulations. To develop the annual recruitment events and Enrichment strategies and operational plans Responsibility for the day-to-day smooth and efficient running and management of the recruitment events team (including the student guide scheme) Responsibility for the day-to-day smooth and efficient running and management of the enrichment team Working alongside the Associate Deans (Admissions), to ensure that the office achieves the vision and strategy for admissions and recruitment across the University. Responsibility for profiling and managing the annual recruitment events team budget To manage the Events CRM plan and work with the marketing team to ensure To manage the Hobsons Events and Interviews event booking system and coordinate the training of others in using the system The role holder must develop an understanding of the QAA s and University s Codes of Practice with respect to admissions processes and requirements and ensuring compliance in office systems and procedures.
