Grand Ave., Lansing, MI / M-F; General Summary of Function/Purpose of Position Serves as Children s Service Agency (CSA) and Field Operations Administration (FOA) senior technician providing a point of contact between DHHS technology end-users in the Children s Services Agency and the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical assistance to CSA and FOA technology changes; analyzing and identifying the impact of these changes on the end-user business activities; developing or updating business processes for the end user, and ensuring the business perspective of the project is accounted for as it Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Outlook, etc...), Windows, Skype for Business, and Adobe products. This position is responsible for creating internal staff communication, training development and delivery as well as planning, organizing, implementing and the evaluation of various technical projects.

2 15. Please describe the assigned duties, percent of time spent performing each duty, and what is done to complete each duty. List the duties from most important to least important. The total percentage of all duties performed must equal 100 percent. Duty 1 General Summary: Percentage: 60 Serve as senor level technician to Children s Service Agency and Field Operations Administration management and staff for support functions, some of which relates to automated systems. Plan, develop and maintain DHHS intranet webpages related to technology for CSA and FOA. Communicate technology related impacts to staff utilizing communication tools such as GovDelivery and SharePoint discussion threads. Conduct meetings disseminating technology related information and solicitation of feedback regarding impacts, etc. Provide consultation and guidance to CSA and FOA staff regarding appropriate DTMB contacts. Represent the Agency at interdepartmental meetings or conferences for planning, implementation, training and evaluation of technology related projects. Facilitate communication and information dissemination within the CSA and FOA. Develop and conduct training for staff on specific functions of software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc. When problems arise, notify DIT staff of problem; provide description and examples to the reporting system. Track status of issue resolution by DIT. Troubleshooting of application usage and procedures. Provide assistance in setting up presentation and training hardware, including projection devices and connections to equipment used in those presentations. Duty 2 General Summary: Percentage: 30 CSA and FOA liaison with DTMB to coordinate large scale projects including software, hardware and infrastructure rollouts. Chair and determine the correct composition of workgroups and/or committees required. Provide recommendation for and participate in workgroups required to gather information needed to evaluate the effect of proposed technology solutions on the Department. Serve as functional liaison for the implementation of new and existing software (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, Outlook, etc...), Windows, Skype for Business, and Adobe products). This includes planning and coordinating design, development, testing and implementation activities; solicit suggestions and evaluate alternative designs and implementation methods; guide testing of software for completeness and accuracy and document errors. Communicate information about software capabilities and limitations to other staff. Develop weekly status reports for assigned projects; identifies current status of the project, milestones attained and potential barriers.documentation is critical to ensure historical data is maintained for future reference, implementation planning activities and auditing purposes. Conduct a risk assessment of identified barriers along with potential solutions to keep project on track for meeting deadlines. Escalate identified barriers to management that need immediate attention; escalation process to include potential solutions, risk assessment of unintended consequences for each solution and recommendations ofthe best approach for getting the project back on track for meeting implementation deadlines. Conduct post-implementation reviews and impact analysis, recommend refinements, corrections or changes and evaluate effectiveness of implementation plan. Analyze and diagnose specific problems using advance troubleshooting techniques. Coordinate and schedule required visits by DIT technical staff. Acts independently to modify printer configurations, including assigning users to specific printers. Contact DIT Client Service Center to delete a print job when the owner is unavailable. Serve as main contact person for software upgrades affecting the offices systems. Assist staff in deleting temporary files as needed. Provide general guidance to management on system related questions. Attend trainings/meeting with DIT personnel. Coordinate DIT-161 requests. Provide support for all peripheral devices. Identify application errors/versus system errors. Investigates, analyzes and attempts to solve problems. Seeks assistance from DIT when necessary. Duty 3 General Summary: Percentage: 5 MiPrint and Multifunction equipment coordinator statewide.

3 Respond to new printer/scanner equipment requests through appropriate approval processes, and recommend appropriate solution to meet requestor's needs. Arrange for moves, cancelations, and redeployment of printer/scanner equipment through the state, achieving cost efficient solutions for placement of unneeded equipment. Maintain accurate inventories of printer/scanner equipment statewide. Duty 4 General Summary: Percentage: 5 Other duties as assigned Special projects As assigned 16. Senior level is required to make complex decisions when researching causes of software problems and what actions are required to resolve the issue. Decisions are made regarding the point of contact and the method of resolution for problems with a variety of equipment and service needs. Independent decisions are required when collecting data and developing related software acquisitions and workstation upgrades. 17. What are the minimum education and experience qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of this position. EDUCATIO: Education typically acquired through completion of high school. Equivalent combinations of education and experience which could provide the indicated knowledge, skills, and abilities listed will be evaluated on an individual basis. EXPERIECE: Departmental Technician 10 Three years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced level in state service. OR Two years of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Two years of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. Alternate Education and Experience Departmental Technician 10 Possession of a Bachelor s degree and one year of professional experience may be substituted for the experience requirement. KOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AD ABILITIES: It is imperative that the person in this position be able to blend an understanding of DHHS local office operations, DHHS Vision and Goals and DTMB support structure.
