4 MP3IC Program Multilateral Public-Private Partnership for Infrastructure Capacity Development (MP3IC) Program joint capacity development initiative launched by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and World Bank Institute (WBI) in 2008 Activity Agreement based joint implementaton to develop and implement a learning program that is relevant for a globally diverse group of PPP practitioners aimed at preparing and disseminating learning and knowledge products

5 MP3IC Components PPP Core Learning Program PPP Global Learning Products and Learning Tools Workshops and Events (MP3IC Workshop Series, PPP Days) Global Distance Learning Network (GDLN) and GDLN Video Dialogue Series PPP Knowledge Portal

6 Asia PPP Network Responds to the needs of the regional practitioners who are seeking opportunities for regional knowledge sharing and training Activities include: Country-level workshops to address specific PPP concerns in the country (e.g. Philippine Country Workshop on PPP held last 5 April on Best Practices in the Preparation of Feasibility Studies for PPP Projects); Executive Forum for heads of PPP Units in Asia; and Other training programs for those charged with developing and implementing PPP programs PPP (e.g. PPP Practitioners Training in Seoul, Korea in October 2010).

7 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Days PPP Days is an bi-annual global meeting for public sector PPP practitioners. It provides a forum for those charged with developing and implementing PPP programs to share experiences on innovations in PPP policy, structuring, and financing. Also engages with the Private Sector This 4 th Annual event held at ADB HQ in Manila in March 2010, Philippines focused on Innovative PPP models and Key Policy Issues. Proposed that next PPP Days 2012 be jointly done by UNECE, ADB and WBI

9 PPP Sourcebook 1 Public domain resource covering essential areas of knowledge related to PPP project and policy development and implementation. Succinct narratives on topics and references papers, reports, guidance material, PPP legislation, and case studies. To be published as a web-based portal text and links to documents that are in the public domain references where these cannot be accessed from the web.

10 PPP Sourcebook 2 Chapters will feature a question and answer approach Contents: Background and Introduction Institutional Frameworks, Policy and Project Governance Legal Framework and PPP Contracts Project Selection and Appraisal The Structure of a PPP Transaction Procurement Finance Contract Management and Regulation Ease of updating is also a consideration.

11 EIU PPP Readiness Index 1 Designed to independently assess the PPP environment in countries in a region Dynamic Excel model and index comprises 19 indicators to provide a unique description and critical assessment in selected countries: Legal and Regulatory framework Institutional arrangements Operational Maturity Investment Climate Financing facilities and risks Independent desk research, interviews and expert peer review
