The first WILL Academy, held in 2004, offered an exciting opportunity for women lawyers who have practiced ten years or less to interact with a diverse, outstanding faculty of leading lawyers and judges from around the country. WILL Academy s primary focus is career and legal skills development with an eye toward leadership. Participants are taught to take charge of their leadership potential, self-assess, build their own personal leadership plans, and hear from those who have lead the way before them. The CLE sessions will be strong on content and focused on practical, concrete advice and guidance. The Women in Law Leadership Academy will offer the perfect networking opportunity for young women professionals. While the programs are designed to attract young women lawyers, specifically those three to ten years out of law school, WILL Academy is open to all women in the profession. The Academy will feature powerful keynote speakers, such as Mary Cranston, Managing Partner of Pillsbury Winthrop, and Gloria Santona, General Counsel of McDonald's Corporation, and other leaders who have made significant strides in the legal profession.
