Applications are invited from interested and eligible persons to fill up the position of Senior Research Associate- NVG in the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs on purely contractual basis. About IICA The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) was registered as a society on September 12, 2008 under the Societies Registration Act, An autonomous institute, IICA works under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to deliver opportunities for research, education, and advocacy. It is also a think tank that curates a repository of data and knowledge for policy makers, regulators as well as other stakeholders working in the domain of corporate affairs. Set up as the premier organisation that aims at providing astute and credible intellectual leadership in corporate regulation, governance and running sustainable businesses, IICA is a think-tank, capacity building and service delivery institute. Its work enables corporate growth, reforms and regulation through synergised knowledge management, and global partnerships thus offering real-time solutions. IICA propels knowledge and training through its network of Schools, Centres and Verticals. Key activities carried out by IICA include induction and in-service training to Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) officers, capacity-building and training programs, policy advisory functions, public outreach and stakeholder consultations through seminars, conferences, and forums. IICA also supports and assists Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) initiatives on matters relating to Corporate Affairs. Background The Business and Human Rights in Indian Context In Indian scenario, recognizing the importance of responsible business practices and their positive implications for society and environment, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in July 2011, came out with the National Voluntary Guidelines on Social, Environmental and Economic Responsibilities of Business. These guidelines emphasize that businesses have to endeavour to become responsible actors in society, so that their every action leads to sustainable growth and economic development. The Guidelines have been articulated in the form of nine (9) Principles with the Core Elements to actualize each of the principles. The fifth (5) Principle takes into account the Corporate Responsibility to Respect Human Rights, as referred in the United Nations Protect, Respect, Remedy Framework. Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as a part of its circular on 13th August 2012, made it mandatory for top 100 Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE)

2 listed companies to disclose their Business Responsibility Practices through a report adhering to the NVG framework. The SEBI vide its press release dated 30th November, 2015 has extended the applicability of BRR to top 500 listed entities based on market capitalization. The new regulation SEBI-Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements has come into force from April, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), an autonomous organisation of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has anchored work relating to the National Voluntary Guidelines and Business Responsibility, and continues to assist the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to facilitate and coordinate updating and mainstreaming of the Guidelines. 2. 3 Annexure- 1 Job details Job Title : Senior Research Associate (National Voluntary Guidelines) Modality : Contractual Remuneration : Rs 75,000/- (Minimum) - Rs. 90,000 (Maximum) (In exceptional case, remuneration is negotiable based on experience & educational qualification of the candidate.)(tax to be deducted at source) Duration : Six months, initially This position reports to the Head, Centre for Institutional Partnerships & Corporate Communications, who is the Lead for National Voluntary Guidelines on Social, Environmental and Economic responsibilities of Business & Business and Human Rights. This position works out of IICA s Manesar campus. Job Requirements The position requires sound understanding and knowledge of Responsible Business; National Voluntary Guidelines; Business Responsibility Reporting (BRR); CSR; Business and Human Rights issues; Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the corporate eco system in the country. Essential Educational Qualification Post Graduate Degree from a recognised University on Humanities/ Social Sciences/ Law/ Communications or related field. Desirable Qualification -Degree or Diploma in journalism, content writing or related fields -Experience of working for the Government Experience 5-6 years of relevant working experience at the national level working for a prominent organisation. Skill sets required - Excellent written and oral communications skills in English - Demonstrated experience on content development and ability to independently develop concept notes; work plans; background notes; minutes; power point presentations; round table agenda and other such requirement from time to time. - Excellent IT skills including excel and spread sheets

4 - Excellent skills to be able to make good presentations in meetings, round tables and conferences. - Ability to gather, collate and incorporate public comments and views from stakeholders. - Experience of organising events, round tables, stakeholder consultations and launches - Very good coordination skills - Experience of being involved in capacity development programs, including development of training modules. - Sound knowledge of Social Media Twitter; Youtube; Facebook and LinkedIN - Well versed in advocacy skills

7 A. Remuneration and other Conditions: i. Selected candidates shall be required to sign a contract with IICA and join the duties immediately. ii. iii. iv. No other allowances will be payable. However if the person, travel out of the Headquarters he will be entitled to TA/DA as admissible. The assignment is on a full time basis and the person will be required to attend the office on all the working days and on holidays, if required. The period of engagement will be initially for a period of six months, which may, at the discretion of the competent authority be either extended or curtailed. v. The person will be required to maintain decorum, discipline as expected of a Central Government Officer. vi. vii. The contract can be terminated by either side by giving notice for a period of one month or one month s consolidated emoluments in lieu thereof. The contract can be terminated without notice by the competent authority, if at any time the conduct, performance, activities of the individual are found detrimental to the interests of the organization. C. Selection Procedure a. The appointment will be made on the recommendations, on the basis of written test and/or interview, of a Selection Committee constituted for this purpose.
