ICT Strategy & Architecture is part of the ICT Business Unit which is responsible for the Plan to Design of the IT lifecycle. You will work with business partners to build a holistic view of the organisation s strategies, processes, information and IT assets, ensuring the business and ICT are in alignment. Reporting to the ICT Strategy & Architecture Manager, the Enterprise Architect will provide high quality information and advice on IT operations, process and technology while ensuring the Enterprise Architecture function is aligned to the needs and strategy of the business. You will assess and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions. You will develop target enterprise architecture and transition plans that help to define the IT program of work and guide IT investment decisions. In addition, you will be required to establish appropriate metrics and monitoring of systems within the business to clarify effective ICT performance. You will demonstrate the following experience and attributes: TOGAF Certified and ITIL Certification (or similar) Qualifications in Finance, Business Management or ICT will be highly regarded as will Prince2 (or similar project methodology) and COBIT Experience in applying architectural frameworks and methods in developing and reviewing architectural blueprints and strategies that meet the strategic requirements of the business Ability to provide specialist advice, over a range of enterprise architecture topics influencing IT planning and investment Strong focus on partnering with the business, developing relationships to achieve outcomes Unitywater provides high quality, safe and reliable water and sewerage services to approximately 724,626 people and manages $3.2 billion worth of essential service infrastructure. We are governed by an independent Board and have a Participation Agreement with these councils. We are responsible for approximately $3.2 billion of essential service infrastructure and our residential and business customers are spread across 5223 square kilometres, from Cooroy in the north to Samford in the south, Bribie Island in the east and Kenilworth in the west. Our priority is providing a population of approximately 724,626 people with a high quality, safe and reliable water supply and sewerage service that is economically and environmentally sustainable. Your Opportunity The Business Systems Alignment section is part of the ICT branch which is responsible for the Plan to Design, Implement to Handover and Maintain to Renew phases of the IT lifecycle. The section works with business stakeholders to identify process improvements and translate business requirements into system changes and enhancements and to ensure strategic alignment. In this position you will provide high quality information, guidance and advice to the Business Systems Alignment Manager on IT operations, process and technology. As the Enterprise Architect you will be responsible for ensuring the Enterprise Architecture function is aligned to the needs and strategy of the business. 3 Your Accountabilities The role of the Enterprise Architect is to build a holistic view of the organisation s strategies, processes, information and IT assets, ensuring the business and ICT are in alignment. Key functions of the role include: Assesses and communicates the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits and opportunities of IT solutions Aligns and streamlines business processes, IT and business strategy Develops and implements strategy for reducing complexity of information systems in a cost effective manner, for example, by decreasing the number of applications or moving away from legacy systems Establishes appropriate measures, metrics and monitoring of systems within the business to clarify effective ICT performance Builds working relationships with industry, business service partners and strategic vendors to identify opportunities to assist and promote Unitywater. In alignment with Unitywater s corporate strategy and operational drivers, develop target enterprise architecture and transition plans that help to define the IT program of work and guide IT investment decisions. Develop end to end enterprise architecture inclusive of all architecture domains aligned with Enterprise and Solution Architecture Frameworks to support business case development, IT procurement, implementation and production support. Develop comprehensive strategy responses, briefs, submissions, presentations, reports and information papers to influence the development of enterprise architecture and related project, IT planning and investment issues and decisions. Develop and review architectural blueprints, roadmaps, standards and directions; conduct feasibility studies and options analyses. Provide advice to IT stakeholders on technology trends and industry best practice to influence the effectiveness of the organisation s business and IT systems. Maintain an awareness of organisational drivers, coordinating the promotion, development, acquisition and implementation of IT systems and services. Undertake high level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future ICT trends, and assess applicability to support business objectives Identify and assess new and emerging technologies, products, methods and techniques to determine the likely relevance for the organisation. Develop and manage IT stakeholder groups, including senior management and IT professionals, to facilitate open communication, capture and disseminate business and technical information to stakeholders. Develop trusted partner relationships with Executive Managers and Branch Managers providing consultation, insight and facilitating definition of high value business activities and outcomes. Prioritise, negotiate and manage resource and work schedules to support project and operational work to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes. Ensuring that what is delivered is innovative, fit for purpose, adheres to architectural and functional standards and aligns to defined scope. Participate in Unitywater safety audits and inspections to demonstrate visible safety leadership and participation. Business Systems Alignment Manager Business Systems Analyst (multiple) Enterprise Architect Solution Designer Your Qualities Within the context of the duties and accountabilities described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has: Proven experience to apply architectural frameworks and methods in developing and reviewing architectural blueprints and strategies that meet the strategic requirements of the business Ability to provide specialist advice, over a range of enterprise architecture topics influencing IT planning and investment Ability to coordinate and assist the promotion, development and acquisition of IT systems and services Ability to monitor, identify and assess new and emerging technologies, products, methods and techniques Strong compliance skills and demonstrated ability to evaluate compliance with identified governance frameworks Proven ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships, facilitate open communication, and capture and disseminate information Strong client focus with proven skills to prioritise, organise and implement resource and work schedules to meet deadlines and achieve desired outcomes Experience in report writing to Board Level Mandatory requirements of this role: TOGAF Certified ITIL Certification (or similar) C Class Driver s License Highly Desirable requirements of this role: Qualifications at degree or post graduate level (e.g. finance, business management, ICT) BABOK certification Prince2 (or similar project methodology) COBIT Document No: PD0450 Page 3 of 5
