2 Job description Main Purpose To be a visionary leader who inspires and motivates colleagues to provide outstanding teaching and learning. To maintain & develop the school s Christian ethos, within which all individuals feel valued and personal endeavour and responsibility are encouraged. To engender respect and trust throughout the school and plan and deliver improvements through effective management and delegation, empowering senior leaders. To work closely with staff and the governing body to ensure that all children in our school become independent learners with self-belief, a respect for others, and a strong grounding for future success. "This is a school whose values are firmly rooted in its Christian ethos. Leaders make sure that staff, pupils and families are well supported and treated with kindness and respect. Staff and governors share the same high expectation that every pupil can succeed. Staff and pupils feel pleased and proud to be members of this school community. Pupils behave extremely well in lessons and around school, showing respect and courtesy to each other as well as to staff and visitors. They are interested in their learning and they take pride in presenting their work carefully in order to meet teachers expectations. Parents I spoke to informally at the start of the day were highly complimentary about the school. To ensure that the strategic direction is pursued through the implementation of a development plan based on robust self-evaluation. To set an example of professional standards and leadership that inspires high morale and continuous improvement. To recruit, retain and develop staff in accordance with the school s performance management policy. To plan for the continuing financial viability of the school, including exploring opportunities for income generation, and ensure sound management of financial and other resources. To collaborate as necessary with appropriate external bodies and ensure compliance with all applicable LA and DFE policies and guidance. To ensure that accurate and timely assessment and tracking data are used to inform planning and improve attainment. To ensure continuous development of staff and of teaching standards through good performance management. To ensure that the school takes account of national and local requirements and initiatives in developing and delivering a rich and inclusive curriculum. To create and maintain an effective partnership with parents, carers and the wider community to support and improve pupils achievement and personal development. Safeguarding and Pastoral Care To provide a safe, calm and well-ordered environment for all pupils and staff, focused on safeguarding pupils and developing their exemplary behaviour in school and in the wider society. To maintain the school s Christian values of acceptance, understanding and inclusiveness. To work with parents and carers to ensure children have opportunities for enrichment through access to extra-curricular activities and other educational and social experiences. There are seven classrooms in the main school plus a purpose built nursery unit. The school is fortunate to have a large main hall, dining hall, library, smaller purpose built teaching rooms and an extensive playing field.
