This course provides today s managers with the background and skills necessary to lead and motivate an increasingly diverse, team-based work force. Topics include the structuring of effective teams, leading and participating in teams, communicating with and motivating others, and recognizing and valuing individual differences. - Organizational Development (MGT 677) Graduate course. This course considers organizational development as a process of planned change to improve an organization s problem-solving skills, creativity, innovation, and its overall effectiveness within a changing and complex environment. - Human Resource Management (MGT 341) Undergraduate course. The class provides a foundation for the study of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices and strategies, exploring how HRM leads to a competitive advantage for organizations, both nationally and globally. - Staffing and Development (MGT 342) Undergraduate course. This course studies the human resource practices of recruitment, selection, training and development in organizations. The course focuses on planning the human resource needs of organizations as well as individual career development. - Compensation and Performance (MGT 343) Undergraduate course. Reward systems, including job analysis, job evaluation, market surveys and pay-forperformance systems, are examined in relation to alignment with the firm s competitive strategy. An experiential laboratory component uses case discussions and exercises to illustrate applications of theory and concepts.
