1 LOCTION: POST: JOB DESCRIPTION (To be read in conjunction with Person Specification) aspire aspire Leeds Early Intervention in Psychosis Service 37 hours per week. Due to the nature and purpose of the EIP service it is expected that you will work flexibly and adjust your working hours as per the requirements of the service. This may mean working out of hours to suit the needs of the service users and will require you to work one Saturday every month. OUTLINE OF POST: To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary community based team, providing an effective, supportive and responsive service to people who are experiencing the initial stages of psychosis. This will be done by carrying out a range of interventions and duties under the direction and supervision of the Service Manager, Team Leaders and Early Intervention in Psychosis Practitioners. s Support Time and Recovery Worker within a Team pproach model you will be responsible for providing support to promote recovery from psychosis and encouraging the development of independence. You will act as a representative of aspire and an effective link to other organisations and networks in Leeds and elsewhere. Your key role will be to play a fundamental role in the social recovery of our clients, facilitating both group work and one to one social recovery opportunities in conjunction with the Recovery Workers and aspire volunteers. Your work will be guided by the programme of care developed by the client and their care co-ordinator in line with the Care Programme pproach.

2 MIN TSKS: Positive attitude towards promoting engagement, hope and recovery for young people experiencing psychosis with a commitment to empowering and enabling young people to manage their own needs To develop and sustain relationships with people with mental health problems; working creatively and responding flexibly to their needs To support service users in achieving their goals by promoting independent living and assisting in vocational activity. Work closely with the care co-ordinators to assist in delivering appropriate care, implementing agreed programmes of work with service users under the supervision of senior staff, including completion of relevant risk assessments. To ensure effective communication with a Team pproach model during the planning, implementation and evaluation of care, taking a shared responsibility with the rest of the team for supporting all aspire clients and for the safe and effective day-to-day operation of the service. To develop and support a network of partner agencies that can provide leisure, vocational and social activities. Support service user involvement and co-production by promoting the use of the ction fternoon group. To enable service users to access mainstream services to support occupational activity and where appropriate, accompanying individuals to attend these services when in the early stages of their recovery journey. Under the guidance and supervision of Team Leaders and Early Intervention Practitioners establish priorities in workload to ensure the effective use of time and resources. Work in a way that promotes service culture to be sensitive of client needs, differences, difficulties and behaviours, and that Engagement, Hope and Recovery are central themes. To recognise the boundaries of your own knowledge and skills and seek support when appropriate. Organise and co-ordinate the service s activity programmes and promote awareness of this to service users. Facilitate group work and individual work to promote a young person s social recovery. Support service users in gaining work, education and training opportunities. Provid practical support to service users and carers in developing meaningful social support networks ssist clients with practical tasks such as gaining access to support, welfare benefits and housing. Supporting the service to use social media to engage with young people and promote the achievements and developments within the service. Maintain the service s website- keeping information accurate and current. To ensure that client records and other information systems are completed accurately and within agreed timescales. 17 To ensure that support undertaken is meaningful, respectful, promotes selfdetermination and is in line with the individual support plan. 18 Demonstrate a commitment to culturally sensitive practice, through creative engagement with minority groups. 19 Work to promote community awareness of psychosis and reduce stigma within a range of arenas including primary care settings, educational establishments,

3 youth services, voluntary and statutory services. 20 To adhere to organisational policies and procedures relating to risk and personal safety. 21 To contribute to the achievement of annually set individual and team targets. 22 To participate in regular supervision. 23 To represent Community Links in a knowledgeable and professional manner at all times. 24 To maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times. 25 To identify own training and development needs in conjunction with your line manager and participate in training opportunities as directed. 26 To partake in Community Links Personal Development Review system. 27 ny other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post.
