2 ConstructionOnline Scheduling Whether you re managing two or two hundred projects at a time, accurate construction scheduling is critical to your success. Inaccurate information, mishandling of materials, and more can cause significant delays in your projects that result in massive profit loss. ConstructionOnline Scheduling delivers an advanced, yet intuitive construction scheduling application that gives you ultimate control over all your project schedules. Getting Started with Scheduling Go to the Scheduling Page Select the Pro Features tab at the top of the page, then click Scheduling. If you have no schedules in your list yet, you will see the ConstructionOnline Scheduling dialog. You can also get there by clicking the Schedules link in a Project s Action Menu or right sidebar.

3 Creating a New Schedule 1 Click the New Schedule Link 2 The New Schedule link can be found in the New menu or at the end of the Schedule List page. Enter Schedule Name and Select Resources The Create New Schedule dialog will appear. This dialog gives you the ability to: Name the schedule. Select the resources you want to see or edit the schedule. Select a project to associate the schedule with. Assigned Resources can view and edit schedules. Related Resources can view schedules. When you click the Create button, your new schedule will appear in your schedule list.

4 The Schedule List View The Schedule List View shows all the schedules you ve created or have been assigned to. Here you can see each schedule s details, such as: start and end dates, duration, and creator. You can also create a New Schedule in this view. Click Schedule name to go to the Gantt Chart View. View Only Schedule - this is a schedule you don t have permission to edit. Click here to create a New Schedule. Details for selected schedule.

5 The Schedule Gantt View The Schedule Gantt View is where you can view and edit a schedule. Add new groups, tasks, and milestones with ease. Determine the order of your schedule tasks by choosing predecessors. A predecessor is a task which must occur before another task. Select schedule to view here. The Action Menu lets you control groups & tasks. Edit values like Task Name, Start & End Date, Predecessors and more. Perform additional actions with the Toolbar.

6 Scheduled Tasks in the Calendar View The tasks you create in your Schedules are also displayed in your Calendars, so you can see all of your project events and tasks at-a-glance. Scheduled tasks are denoted with the schedule icon and cannot be edited in the Calendar view. Project Events - these are created here in the Calendar View. Scheduled Tasks - these are created in the Scheduling View and show in your calendar automatically. These tasks cannot be edited here.

7 Working with Predecessors Using Predecessors maximizes schedule efficiency by setting the task order so each task may begin as soon as possible or progress in the ideal order. For example, you might set a predecessor of Electrical Labor for the task Electrical Rough-In Inspection. There are several types of predecessor relationships - see the table below for more information. Basic Predecessor Relationship Task Numbers Predecessor Format Predecessor Linkage Predecessor Number Predecessor Lag Time # 1 Task A (Predecessor to Task B) # 2 1fs Task B 1 fs +3 Predecessor Number and Type Predecessor Relationship Type Predecessor Relationship Types Relationship Type Finish - Start (shows by default) Task A must be finished before Task B can start. Finish - Finish Task A must be finished before Task B can finish. Start - Finish Task A must be started before Task B can finish. Start - Start Task A must be started before Task B can start. Format 1fs 1ff 1sf 1sf More About Predecessors: You can set lag time for a predecessor - for example a predecessor of 1fs+3 means that the task will begin 3 days after the completion of the predecessor task. Lag time may also be negative. A task may have multiple predecessors. A group cannot be set as a predecessor.
