3 A. Signing On and Off the System Signing On There are two ways to access the Talent Management system. 1. From MyMC select the Employees tab. Locate the MC Talent Management System channel and click the Access the Talent Management System link, or Signing Off 2. Open an Internet Explorer browser and go to the following Web address: Use your MyMC login to enter the site. You will be brought to the Talent Management Welcome Center. In the left menu, select Performance under Centers. The Employee Center home page opens up. 1. Click the Sign-Out link located at the top right corner of the page. B. Accessing the Talent Profile 1. From the Employee Center home page, locate the Quick Links menu. 2. Click on the My Profile link. Your Talent Profile Display Page opens. If you are a supervisor and wish to view a direct report s talent profile follow steps a through d. a. Locate the Employee dropdown list where your name appears at the top of the page; b. Click the down-arrow and you will see a listing of all your direct reports; c. Select the direct report whose talent profile you would like to view; and d. Use the same procedure to return to your own talent profile. D. Navigating the Talent Profile Top Navigation Bar The Employee and the Module dropdown lists work together. When you select Talent Profile from the Module dropdown list you will be able to view the Talent Profile for any employee that you select from the Employee dropdown list. Talent Profile Guidebook 2

4 Talent Profile Toolbar There are three buttons on the toolbar. Save the Information Periodically save your work. CAUTION! If you close the browser without saving, your work will be lost. Cancel Cancels any changes made since the last save. Display the Print Preview Displays the print options dialogue box. E. Talent Profile Display The Talent Profile is broken down into six sections. Two sections are not editable. They are: 1. General lists your current position, organization, manager, and phone 2. Review History will show your past review ratings. The four remaining sections are editable and should be kept current: 3. Education Institution, Program, Education Level, GPA, Start Date and Graduation Date 4. Work Experience Job Function (Class Family), Employer, Start Date, End Date, Tasks and Achievements, Supervisor s Name and Title and Supervisor s Contact Information 5. Certifications Name of Certification, Organization, Number/ID, Issue Date, Expiration Date 6. Job Preferences (The label Job Preferences should be understood to mean Additional Job Experience Information. This will be corrected in a future version of the system.) 5 Education To add your education history, click the Add Education button under the Education heading. To edit information that you have already entered, click the Edit button at the top right of this section. 1. Select an institution from the Institution look-up by clicking on the Selector Tool. A list of institutions appears. a. You can filter by Name, Type, Location or Keyword by clicking on the Show Drop Down menu and selecting an option. b. Enter the search text in the Contains box, and click the Refresh button. c. Click on the name of your institution and then click on the Select button. If you don t find your college or university, type it in the Other Institution field. 2. Select a program of study from the Program look-up by clicking on the Selector Tool. A list of programs appears. a. You can filter by Name. Enter the name or portion of the name of your program and then click the Refresh button. b. Click the name of your program and then click the Select button. If you don t find your program listed, type it in the Other Program field. 3. Select the diploma or degree you received from the Education Level dropdown. 4. Add your GPA if you d like. 5. Add the start date and the graduation date. If you haven t yet graduated but have an anticipated graduation date, put that date in the graduation date field and click the box next to Anticipated Graduation Date. When you are finished, click on the Save Icon at the top right of this section. You can add another educational experience by clicking on the Add Education button. If you haven t entered anything, or don t want to save your information, click the Cancel the Changes button. Work Experience To add Work Experience, click the Add Work Experience button under the Work Experience heading. To edit information that you have already entered, click the Edit button at the top right of this section. 1. Select an employer from the Employer look-up by clicking on the Selector Tool.. If you don t find your employer, type it in the Other Employer field. You can filter by Name. Enter the name or portion of the name of your employer and then click the Refresh button. a. Click the name of your employer and then click the Select button. If you don t find your employer listed, type it in the Other Employer field. 2. Select a start date and an end date. If you are still in the position, check the box next to Still in position. Talent Profile Guidebook 4

6 3. Enter your Tasks and Achievements. Please enter your job title(s) here as well. 4. Finish by entering your supervisor s information name, , title, and phone number. If you would like your supervisor to be contacted, check the box next to May we contact the supervisor? When you are finished, click on the Save Icon at the top right of this section. You can add another work experience by clicking on the Add Work Experience button. If you haven t entered anything, or don t want to save your information, click the Cancel the Changes button. Certifications To add certifications, click the Add Certification button under the Certifications heading. To edit your certifications, click the Edit button at the top right of this section. 1. Select a certification from the Certification look-up by clicking on the Selector Tool. A list of certifications appears. a. You can filter by Description. Enter the name or portion of the name of your certification and then click the Refresh button. b. Enter the search text in the Contains text box, and click the Refresh button. c. Click on the name of your certification and then click on the Select button. If you don t find your certification, type it in the Other Certification field. 2. Type the name of the organization that certified you. 3. Type the number/id or your certificate, if applicable. 4. Select an issue date and an expiration date, if applicable. When you are finished, click on the Save Icon at the top right of this section. You can add another certification by clicking on the Add Certification button. If you haven t entered anything, or don t want to save your information, click the Cancel the Changes button. Job Preferences To add your years in management, position your mouse in the Years in Management field and highlight the number. Enter the number of years you have been in management. If you have been in management for X years and 6 or more months, round up to the next year; if you have been in management for X years and 1 5 months, round down. To add your years of experience position your mouse in the Years of Experience field and highlight the number. Enter the number of years of experience you have. If you have X years and 6 or more months or experience, round up to the next year; if you have X years and 1 5 months of experience, round down. If you make a change, click the Save button on the top navigation bar. Talent Profile Guidebook 5
