2 AGILENT MASSHUNTER WALKUP SOFTWARE MORE PRODUCTIVE BY DESIGN Agilent MassHunter Walkup software allows more users to access LC/MS instruments with ease. With Walkup software, even novice users can take full advantage of powerful LC/MS capabilities without assistance from expert staff. ENABLE SIMPLE AND CONVENIENT SAMPLE SUBMISSION With Agilent MassHunter Walkup software, users are only three quick steps away from submitting their samples: Login Choose Method Place Sample Receive Report Enter username and number samples to be run. Enter sample information and select from a list of available methods. Place sample in the position as directed by the software. Access LC/MS Instruments with Ease: Administrators tailor user access to instrument parameters, so there is no need to monitor. LC + Single Quad support. Users with different skill levels perform their own automated analyses. Now the software takes over, adding the sample to the queue, performing the analysis, and sending a report to the submitter. Submitters will automatically receive the results indicating whether the system has detected the compound of interest and, if so, an estimate of its purity. Reports can also be customized to provide additional information, such as the mass spectra of major impurities, if present. Agilent MassHunter Walkup software allows users of different skill levels to perform their own automated LC and LC/MS analyses all that s required is to input some basic information, choose a method, and insert samples as directed. Results show up in the submitter s in-box automatically. Example Workflow: Walkup Software Lets Chemists Focus on Synthesis Synthetic organic chemists who prepare new compounds often have little or no experience in mass spectrometry they simply want to ensure that the results of their synthesis are adequate to proceed to the next step, and to receive notification when the analysis is complete. In most cases, they need to confirm that they made the correct compound and get an approximate purity or yield, in order to make appropriate decisions for the next step in target compound development. Many organizations have multiple LC/MS systems that are set up for high-throughput molecular weight confirmation. Medicinal chemists who need results quickly must first locate an instrument that is available for the analysis. With MassHunter Walkup software, a user can see the status of each instrument from any location on the network, and can rapidly choose the most appropriate instrument. The benefits of Agilent MassHunter Walkup software can also be applied to Agilent HPLC systems operating without an attached mass spectrometer, enabling easy access to routine LC analysis for an entire user community. Once an instrument has been located, the chemist simply logs in, describes the samples, and assigns a method from a list. Then the software shows the locations in the sampler where the samples should be placed. When analysis is complete, the chemist receives a report with all the information needed for the target compound.
