1 OPRATIONS MANAGR JOB SCRIPTION Line Manager: CO Salary: 28,562 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week Leave: 26 days per annum About FareShare FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. We source food that is surplus to requirements from food retailers and manufacturers and engage many volunteers to help redistribute this to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people (individuals who are homeless, unemployed or socially isolated). FareShare operates in 21 regions across the UK, providing food to over 6,000 charities and community groups. We provide food for 28 million meals. FareShare UKs delivery partner for Kent is the local charity Children & Families, who oversee and support the work of FareShare Kent based in Ashford. Summary of Role To provide leadership and direction to meet ambitious strategic and operational performance targets in Kent by creating partnerships and raising awareness of FareShare and the Family Food Bank with the public sector, food suppliers and community organisations. You will manage and coordinate the day to day operations of our Regional Centre in Kent. You will also manage and support staff, leading by example to ensure that targets are met and ensure the continuity of delivery standards within the guidelines of FareShare UK policies and procedures. uties & Responsibilities 1. Operations Overall management and leadership of the Kent Regional Centre and subordinate sites and operations, to maintain operational performance and ensure that Community Members needs are met; nsure excellent relationships with key partners, especially: FareShare UK, Community Food Members (CFMs) and food suppliers. Support the implementation of new delivery routes resulting from Community Food Member growth; Support the introduction of new and better models of working with Community Food Members and support staff with the implementation of those models;

2 Work with the Food Sourcing Team to ensure enough food is available to meet delivery objectives, whilst developing and maintaining relationships with local food companies; To carry out any other duties as may be required. 2. evelopment Research, identify and recruit new Community Food Members by working with the national marketing team to develop relationships and partnerships with external organisations to raise awareness and the profile of FareShare, particularly local and national government, national charities and volunteer agencies; nsure that FareShare Kent meets its business growth targets to ensure the financial viability of FareShare Kent; Oversee the successful relocation of operations and services as may be required; Through relationships with volunteer agencies ensure best practice for the management, recruitment, development and engagement of volunteers; To lead, support and promote the development of projects that advance the aims of FareShare and the Family Food Bank. 3. Standards nsure the highest quality service to our CFMs, within the parameters of a surplus food delivery and collection service; Be responsible for the continuity of high standards in all aspects and with all stakeholders both internal and external; In particular, be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of compliance in relation to the law governing the handling, processing and transportation of food and general health and safety practice. 4. Marketing and communication Promote the work of FareShare and the Family Food Bank positively and proactively including communication with the local media and contributing to national communications where agreed with FareShare UK; Lead initiatives on PR and communication for FareShare Kent with the support of the national marketing team, ensuring that Community Members are well informed and that awareness raising is progressed to the wider county audience; nsure data is captured and up to date regarding all development activity and provide the Marketing and Communications Team with timely information as agreed. 5. Administration & Finance Manage and monitor the annual budget to ensure costs are controlled and relevant to the annual budget and build increasing levels of sustainability; Accurately account for Community Food Membership income; nsure that food movements are accurately logged on the online management system GLAYS; nsure that all necessary and required depot administration is in place and operating correctly, particularly that relating to food hygiene and health and safety.

Leadership Provide high quality management to the team, motivating and inspiring them to achieve our objectives through clear communication and regular reviews; Provide insight and be able to present our strategic performance with confidence to the wider FareShare team.
