ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Position Title of Supervisor: Manager City Conversations Titles of Positions which report to this position are: NIL Contractors for which this position is responsible: Agency staff, suppliers and contractors as required 3. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION To assist in the development and implementation of the City Conversations annual program through effective research and collaboration with stakeholders with a focus on continuous improvement. To develop and implement innovative strategies to increase audience reach and exposure for the City Conversations program. To assist in the development and ongoing monitoring of the City Conversations annual business plan ensuring optimal delivery. Responsible for overseeing the City Conversations event budget and performance planning process. Title: Date: Page 1

2 4. POSITION OBJECTIVES The major objectives to be achieved by the City Conversations Project Manager are: To assist in the identification and co-ordination of global talent bids. To manage digital content for the City Conversations program. To project manage innovative projects and partnership opportunities which will increase audience reach and engagement with the City Conversations Program in compliance with Council policy. To assist in development and monitoring of the City Conversations annual business plan and event budget, ensuring optimum program delivery and compliance in line with the City of Sydney s guidelines and timeframes. To ensure the delivery of City Conversations business, reporting and administrative functions. To monitor contracts and ensure compliance with Council s Procurement, Contract Management policies and other compliance obligations relevant to City Conversations. To be held accountable for working conditions under the control of the position and for detecting any unsafe or unhealthy conditions or behaviour and to take immediate steps to investigate and rectify any risks to health, safety and welfare arising from any activity. 5. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES To identify channels to increase audience reach. Working in collaboration to develop engaging digital content. To undertake data analysis and evaluation for City Conversations driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. To manage the bid submission process for global talent. Accurate evaluation and reporting on program delivery and performance. Develop and monitor City Conversations annual event budget and schedule to ensure accuracy and timeliness. To oversee contract management, evaluation and compliance for City Conversations. Title: Date: Page 2

3 Support the recruitment and training programs for the City Conversations team. Ensure compliance with Council s Procurement, Risk Management, Contract Management policies and other compliance obligations relevant to City Conversations. Ensure compliance with legislative industrial and Council policy requirements and standards in the areas of Equal Employment Opportunity, Work, Health and Safety and Rehabilitation and Records Management. Comply with and keep abreast of any relevant legislation applicable to the performance of the duties of this position. Regarding all delegations that are assigned to my position, I will refer to the Delegations Register to identify the level of delegated authority and I will not act outside my level of delegated authority when carrying out my duties. 6. 4 7. WORK, HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervisors/Team Leaders are responsible for the health and safety of all persons under their direction. As such they are responsible for assisting their managers in implementing the WHS Policy and Safety Management System (SMS) by: Inducting all new and transferred workers. Implementing risk management activities. Stopping work in circumstances that are deemed an immediate risk to health and safety until a satisfactory solution is agreed/implemented. Actively promoting consultation, WHS training and access to information to ensure safe work procedures are understood and followed. Managing, implementing and advising workers when changes have been made in the workplace (i.e. systems of work, risk assessments). Reporting hazards and any work-related injuries/illness as soon as practicable; taking reasonable care; and taking immediate steps to investigate and rectify any risk to health, safety and welfare. AUTHORITY TO ACT The incumbent has the authority to take any reasonable steps to ensure that the smooth flow of operations is maintained providing the actions are consistent with the responsibilities of the position and subject to any limitations, corporate policies, procedures or safe work method statements. All personnel have the power to stop work in circumstances that are deemed an immediate risk to health and safety until a satisfactory resolution is agreed / implemented. Such circumstances may include life threatening situations or those that could result in loss of limb or other significant lost time injury. 9. SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications at degree level in marketing or event business management or extensive relevant experience. Title: Date: Page 4

5 Demonstrated experience in business plan and budget management within a large profile organisation. Highly developed skills in project and partnership management. Demonstrated ability in digital marketing skills. Highly developed research and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate global and local issues and current affairs. Highly developed computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop. Understanding of procurement process and contract management.
