15 PERCEPTION vs. REALITY Customers want Self-Service. All providers are offering the same service. Most organizations do not have the staff or skills needed to perform self-service testing and recovery. Services vary greatly, some only offer one product, while others have a full suite of services. DRaaS is expensive. Top tier providers offer tailored solutions meeting technical and budget needs. DR environments are an island. DRaaS only works if you are already in the cloud. DRaaS and Data Survivability are not the same thing. DR environments can be intermingled with production, test and dev. Many options are available, even for those that are not in the cloud. Data Survivability is the basic form of Disaster Recovery.

16 IMPORTANT TRAITS OF A QUALITY PROVIDER THEY UNDERSTAND WHAT A CLIENT EXPECTS FROM A SERVICE PROVIDER MEANINGFUL SERVICE LEVELS HISTORY IS IMPORTANT How long have they been doing this? What is their core competency? Running production environments, selling hardware, or marketing? SOLUTION SETS, NOT JUST A SINGLE SOLUTION COMMITMENT Is this a long-term investment, or a ride the wave type of partner? CULTURAL FIT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE Would you hire the people that work for the provider? If they are going to be an extension of your team they have to feel like they are capable of being on your bench

17 TAKEAWAYS Do what is right for your business DR is part of an overall BC Plan, Planning is critical Choose proven providers that are committed
