2 Cultural Institute Project Manager Cultural Institute Do you have experience working in the creative/digital industries? Are you interested in using your knowledge, skills and experience to support the development of pioneering interdisciplinary research with cultural and creative sector partners? Do you have excellent project management skills and possess experience of partnership working and of delivering project evaluation? The Cultural Institute offers a single gateway of information, support and practical advice to connect external partners with our world-leading researchers across all of the disciplines in the University, inviting them to contribute new ideas and expertise to projects from their inception, right through to bids for external funding that support our work together. As Cultural Institute Project Manager, you will support the Cultural Institute in the achievement of its aims which are to develop pioneering interdisciplinary research with cultural and creative sector partners, increase cultural engagement and build students skills. What does the role entail? As a Cultural Institute Project Manager, your main duties will include: Project Management: With other Cultural Institute Project Managers, providing project management and evaluation support for a portfolio of core projects and activities as required, including, for example, Arts and Health research priority, Ignite, Impact in 5, Leeds Creative Labs, Culture on Campus and student opportunities/incubating the Future; Working with the Research and Innovation Service (RIS) and the Culture Theme, identifying and developing projects that have potential to form the basis of future large grant applications for interdisciplinary research; As part of the Cultural Institute team, contributing to developing and implementing the work plan, including monitoring progress in your area of special responsibility and supporting the Management Team in dealing with any changes or setbacks to ensure that the overall objectives are delivered;

3 Providing support to the Associate Director on innovation projects and networks; including organising events and meetings, keeping records, preparing and writing reports; In liaison with the Associate Director managing a portfolio of strategic partners and developing new contacts and external partnerships including; undertaking project initiation meetings with external partners, representing and promoting the Cultural Institute both internally and externally at appropriate seminars and conferences and organising partnership workshops and events; Providing advice and support to the Cultural Institute team in all areas of special responsibility; Special responsibilities Creative Industries: Identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with commercially focused creative businesses, networks and the LEP to establish partners interested in working with us, for example to co-create taught programmes and sector CPD; acting as hosts for PGRs, interns and volunteers and developing collaborative/contract research; Supporting researchers in commercialisation of work that arises from aspects of the Cultural Institute s innovation programmes, liaising with the RIS contract and commercialisation team. These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post. What will you bring to the role? As a Cultural Institute Project Manager, you will have: Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent; Minimum of three years recent experience of working within a commercially focused environment in the creative industries; Working knowledge of commercialisation of products and services; Excellent project management skills; Experience of partnership working; Experience of delivering project evaluation;

4 Excellent organisational and time-management skills; the ability to prioritise tasks and workload, demonstrate a flexibility of approach and to work to deadlines without prompting; Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; The ability to work as a team player, to be pro-active; motivated and enthusiastic; The ability to coordinate and organise meetings, workshops or seminars and to play an appropriate role presenting at such events. You may also have: Experience of developing innovation strategies in complex organisations; Experience of working in Higher Education.
