As a member-owned financial cooperative, Inspirus relies on members to serve on its Board of Directors and as Associate Directors. These governance leaders ensure financial soundness and guide strategic and policy decisions in a wide variety of areas, including the mission and focus of the credit union, member services, fiscal oversight, product development and marketing. The board of directors has established an Associate Director program to build understanding of the governance role, enrich member service opportunities and provide an additional potential route to service on the board of directors. Associate Director Program Associate Board members will be appointed to a one or two-year term by the Inspirus Credit Union Board of Directors. These non-voting positions are designed to provide an opportunity for interested members to learn about the board process and gain an educational background on the internal policies and procedures of Inspirus Credit Union. The Associate Directors will also learn about the state and national credit union system. Associate Directors will be expected to attend monthly board meetings, participate in strategic planning, participate in special projects, and receive training and education on issues important to the credit union and its members.
