1 2015 Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award Foreword The 4 th Cross-Strait-Four-Region Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2015 Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility is a Strategy for Corporate Sustainable Development Mirror Monthly Magazine, a civilian-run Hong Kong-based media, has always been insisting on the principle of Revitalization of China with Honest Reporting and Outspokenness since its establishment 37 years ago. We have always been following the founding principle of Mr. Tsui Sze Man GBM, the late Standing Member of the CPPCC and the founder of Mirror Monthly Magazine: We have to play the role as public instrument, we should never do anything only for the purpose of profit, we should be honest in reporting, speak for the public and be responsible for the society. For the purpose of promoting the merits of Chinese enterprises and advocating corporate social responsibility, Mirror Monthly Magazine, on 2014 March 21, successfully organised The 3 rd Cross-Strait-Four-Region Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Outstanding SME Social Responsibility Award and Outstanding Entrepreneur Social Responsibility Award Presentation Ceremony. The Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administration Region, Mr. C.Y. Leung was the guest of honour and spoke at the Award Presentation Ceremony. Following the stringent selection process based on the 7-items of Corporate Social Responsibility criteria conducted by the selection advisory board, the selected 1

2 enterprises and entrepreneurs are all those representatives from their respective sectors which play an outstanding role in fulfilling their corporate social responsibility. They are recognized as the social role models. From the past examples of many outstanding corporates, we deeply feel that fulfilling corporate social responsibility cannot be done simply through doing charity or giving donation, instead corporate leaders shall regard corporate social responsibility as an indispensable strategy for their sustainable development and build such strategy into their corporate cultures. That is, they would have their corporate social responsibility, namely undertaking to their shareholders, commitment to their customers, cares for their staff, responsibility for the society and protection of the environment, incorporated into the operations of the whole enterprise. As long as it is properly executed, an enterprise, whether or not it is large-sized or small-sized, will not only incur no additional operating costs but also create positive returns for the enterprise and enhance its value and image. It will also help the enterprise achieve synchronized development between the enterprise and the society, promote social harmony, protect environment and maintain sustainable development, while the enterprise is fitting in the marketing environment for the 21 st century. Thanks for the supports and encouragements from different business sectors and chambers of commerce from different industries and commercial sectors from Cross-Strait-Four-Region. Mirror Monthly Magazine will continue to organize this non-profit activity, the 4 th Cross-Strait-Four-Region Outstanding corporate Social Responsibility Award Selection Programme. A series of promotional activities, such as promotional lectures, seminars and cross-media promotion on corporate social responsibility strategy with be co-organized with invited professionals and/or awarded outstanding enterprises. We sincerely invite you to participate in this corporate social responsibility activity. For our sustainable development, let s create a better future together.
