The role of a modern manager is crucial and complex. Alliance MBS has designed a high-energy and rigourous programme to help managers develop and really make a difference to their organisations. Programme The programme is focused on accelerated learning for the full five days. 3 2-3 The Manchester Management Development Programme The Manchester Management Development programme has been designed to help talented and ambitious managers, from any industry, sector or geography make the transition to be the senior leaders of tomorrow. Delegates will be equipped with skills and knowledge to adapt to the new working world that demands agility, flexibility and collaboration across boundaries. Opportunity to Shine (OTS) Every delegate will work with a line manager on how their experience from the programme will be brought back into the organisation. You will develop this into a piece of work highlighting any challenges you want to overcome, any personal ambitions you want to realise and finally what you want to achieve for your organisation - this is called an Opportunity to Shine. Internal Mentors Each delegate will identify and interact with an internal mentor from their organisation helping to bridge the gap between the insights and ideas explored during the programme and the reality of embedding and driving sustainable change when you get back. The programme offers delegates an excellent opportunity through many innovations in the design and delivery to really make a difference to both them and their organisations. 4 Manchester Management Development Programme Programme Outline The programme is focused on accelerated learning covering the three most important issues for your success at work: Leadership, Strategy and Commercial Excellence. It s all about working out when to work at the coal-face versus stand back; when to accept and implement direction from above, and when to challenge and create your own vision. Leadership The leadership theme recognises the key issues for ambitious managers: How to develop the skills to balance a strategic perspective with handson with day-to-day issues. How to influence and engage across boundaries and work with colleagues from different areas and functions. How to embed continuous sustainable change while appreciating the wider strategic context. Strategy In an environment where organisations are increasingly buffeted by the disruptive effects of new technology and business innovation, gaining strategic insight is ever more important to commercial survival. The strategy theme develops your insight into: How to balance creating your own strategy with delivering the corporate one. How to translate strategy into your area. How to prepare for a more strategic role in the future. Commercial Excellence Influential and effective managers have to adapt quickly and learn new skills relating to planning and organisation, managing budgets, running successful projects, marketing, operations, finance, HR, governance. The Commercial Excellence theme explores how you will be able to do this. You are able to not only develop a strong learning community before everyone comes together but you are also able to shape your own learning journey to get the most out of the programme, ensuring return on investment for both you and your organisation. Dr Nick Clifford Programme Director It s so important that our participants throw themselves into the activities Pre-Programme. What they put in at this early stage will really have a bearing on what they get out of the programme during each module and also back in their workplace. The focus they give to their Opportunity to Shine will influence how relevant and successful the programme is for them. Robert Bieniasz Managing Director, Glancy Fawcett The course really did deliver on these expectations. What I hadn t realised I d gain, was the insights not just from the speakers, but the insights from the delegates themselves. The workshops and open forum style approach allowed for some meaningful, work related discussions.
