1 Executive and Strategy Support Advisor Location: [Africa] [South Africa] Category: Field Operations Job Type: Fixed term, Full-time PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this job is to ensure the effective implementation of regional projects and the partnership planning cycle in Southern Africa Region (SAR), and to design and implement an aligned and integrated data gathering system in support of knowledge management. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Communicate on behalf of the Regional Leader (RL) and Senior Director Operations (SDO) with key constituents. Respond to routine Partnership Office and Field issues on behalf of RL and SDO as appropriate. Determine which issues need to be referred to supervisor or delegated to others and provide appropriate briefing and pertinent documentation. Provide synthesis and analysis of documentation submitted to the RL and SDO providing relevant recommendations. Identifies, develops, and initiates solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist. Prepares reports from the RL and SDO Offices. Prepare speeches and presentations for the RL in consultation with communications. Strategic Support: Ensures that GFO and Regional Priorities are aligned with the Partnership priorities and that these are implemented and tracked. Page 1/5

2 Ensures that the strategy scorecard is up-to-date and corrective measures are implemented where there are implementation gaps. Oversees the management and coordination of key meetings and conferences, including oversight of travel logistics Provides leadership to program planning, and coordination for Regional Forums and Directors Conferences and related events Provide synthesis and analysis of documentation submitted to the RL and SDO, providing relevant recommendations thereon. Follow up on key processes from the relevant Regional Leadership Team working group meetings. Lead the development, implementation and review of a broad, coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of the regional strategic initiatives. Ensures that relevant Risk Registers are developed/updated bi-annually and mitigation plans are implemented. Ensures National Offices (NOs) report on Ethics Point within the stipulated timeframes and appropriate conclusive action is taken to address incidents. Leads the design, testing, planning, and implementation of complex projects that affect users in the Regional Office. Checks on implementation within National Offices and ensure quality of delivery. Communication and Effectiveness: Conveys goals and objectives clearly and in a compelling Provide communication link between the RL, GOLT and Senior Leader Teams (SLTs) manner. Ensures the timely roll out of Our Promise 2030 Strategy discussions and capturing of employee input from the RL and SDOs staff teams. Ensures that project and process status, issues and successes are communicated to National and Regional Office, stakeholders, sponsors, and all stakeholders and documented appropriately. Listens effectively and clarifies information as needed. Interprets verbal and non-verbal messages that others communicate, produces clear status reports and communicates clearly. Page 2/5

3 Collaboration: Facilitates effective information dissemination from the RL and SDOs Offices. Actively participates in cross-functional groups to solve problems across projects. Works cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes. Provides resources and organisational structure to promote collaborative initiatives. Utilises to collect and disseminate information, build support, and secure buy-in for desired objectives. Governance & Reporting: Works with the RL and National Directors (NDs) to ensure appropriate planning of Board and AC meetings throughout the calendar year. Works with the RL to ensure that key action items from Board and AC meetings requiring RL's involvement are addressed and/or actioned as required. Works with the RL and SDOs direct reports to analyse and report on accomplishments of strategic performance objectives in the RL and SDOs offices on a quarterly basis. Works with SDOs office and NDs to provide quarterly reports to the Partnership. Drafts biannual reports for presentation to WVI Board in consultation with the RLs and SDOs Office. Other: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the RL or SDO. Attend and participate in Christian devotional meetings and chapel services. Support adhoc initiatives outside the region as and when required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Page 3/5

4 Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position: A University Degree or equivalent in Business Management, Project Management, Strategy management or related field. At least 5 years of professional experience in areas of Management, Administration or Project management. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and a proven ability to train and coach staff and peers. Demonstrated ability to think strategically, plan and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven teamwork, leadership and participation. Strong interpersonal, networking and organisational skills. Demonstrated facilitation and collaboration skills. Advanced competency in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel in the Southern African region. Ability to work virtually with teams in different time zones. Personal commitment to Jesus Christ, World Visions mission statement, and the core values of World Vision. Knowledge of WV Ministry, technical sectors and strategy Experience living and working in the Southern African region and key developmental issues in the region License, registration, or certification required to perform this position: A Professional Project Management Certification preferred Ability to communicate fluently in English, and to relate cross-culturally with a wide range of international audiences.
