What are the main aims and purposes of the Policy / Service / Event or Strategy? The intention of the policy is to set out the arrangements that the Trust will take to ensure compliance with Display Screen Equioment (DSE) Regulations. PURPOSE OF THE POLICY To minimise the risks associated of working with DSE. Therefore, the policy is intended to raise awareness amongst users and to provide managers and staff with a simple tool for conducting basic DSE Self Assessments. 2. Who is involved in delivering the service, implementing the policy or strategy / organising the event? (i.e., partnerships, stakeholders or agencies) The Trust Board The Chief Executive Directors, Assistant Directors and Senior Managers Trust Health and Safety Lead Managers / Heads of Departments All Staff Policy Review Panel 3. What information / data or experience can you draw on to provide an indication of the potential inclusive / exclusive results of delivering this service or event / implementing the policy or strategy to different groups of people and the different needs of people with protected characteristics in relation to this policy / service / event or strategy? What positive impacts are there for this policy / service / event or strategy to better meet the needs of people with protected characteristics? Appropriate arrangementst will be implemented and records kept in ALL area's of the Trust where DSE is used for the benefit and to meet the needs of staff /service users / patients and members of the public.

What action would be needed to ensure the policy / service / event or strategy overcomes: Discriminatory negative impacts Exclusion Failure to meet the needs of people from across the protected characteristics and opportunities for promoting equality and inclusion are maximised. All Trust departments / areas of work are required to include the provision of any necessary DSE Assessments. In departments / areas with a high volume of DSE use, nominated staff will require to be trained in the correct use of the specified DSE and that training is maintained. The need s of travelling, remote and lone working staff working away from their main site needs to be accounted for. DSE Risk assessments should determine whether those who travel long distances or are continuously mobile should be provided with the necessary DSE, training, advice and guidance to enable safe working arrangements. 6. Recommended steps to avoid discrimination and ensure opportunities for promoting equality and inclusion are maximised. Monitoring and reporting arrangements of EIA, for policies and strategies refer to section 7 of the Policy for the Development and Management of Procedural Documents. Completion of regular checks / review of DSE assessments.. Frequency of monitoring Random How the monitoring results will be used and where they will be published; Annual ckeck to keep records up to date/ Learning and development ESR. Who will be responsible for reviewing monitoring results and initiating further action where required The Health, Safety and Security Forum & Estates Sub Committee Any changes that have been made to remove or reduce any negative impacts as a result of conducting the equality impact assessment? Any action points should be included in Business Division / Corporate action plans, with monitoring and review processes.
