3 An Introduction Deloitte, in collaboration with Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), has set up its first global Center of Excellence in Singapore to build new thinking, approaches and solutions for clients navigating the Future of Work. The future of work involves a much broader set of issues than digital only: Part of a larger set of transformations on the horizon such as: The growth of alternative workforce arrangements, including the open talent economy and crowds Growth of the Digital Enterprise The evolution of talent and customer markets based on pull rather than push requiring new capabilities Emergence of network and team based organizations Deliberate design of customer and employee experiences Accelerating use of robotics, cognitive technologies, and artificial intelligence in the workplace Understanding and managing the risks and costs of labor in business 3
