(pro rata for the 3 month contract and if part time) Full or part time considered (minimum of 3 full days a week) Based in Nottingham. Some travel across the East Midlands Background Access Training is a well-established leading training organisation working in and around the city of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. We provide a range of employment related training including Full Time Programmes, Apprenticeships, 24+ Loans and work experience opportunities for adults and young people from diverse backgrounds that will enhance individuals employment potential and qualifications. In our most recent Ofsted inspection we retained our Good rating and we are continuously developing and improving our provision. Main purpose: To generate work experience and employment opportunities for learners of all ages on programme. To promote the opportunities to learners and then match them appropriately to the placements / jobs, ensuring their sustainability for the duration of the placement / job. To ensure learners receive appropriate and adequate information, advice and guidance about the placement / employment opportunity, understand what is expected of them and how and where they can access support. To challenge all practices and procedures within own role and throughout the organisation and to contribute to and ensure continuous quality improvement. Key responsibilities Generate new employer accounts through on-going business development. Sales activity will be conducted through coldcalling/personal visits, following up sales generated leads, and working with existing employer links.

2 To conduct interviews for applicants for internal programmes including initial assessment and pre-screen for employers / placement providers as required. To develop and maintain productive relationships with all appropriate organisations including employers/organisations, Futures, Job Centre Plus, work programme providers, community and voluntary organisations, housing group community engagement teams, etc. To ensure that all learner recruitment administration is processed timely and accurately whilst meeting all employer, prime and awarding body requirements. Manage any potential issues which may arise with employers / organisations and respond accordingly so as to maintain the client relationship. To work alongside the Employability Trainer to ensure that all timetables meet programme requirements and to advise the Sales Manager of any issues. Meet agreed targets on a monthly basis to ensure that learner needs are met. To ensure learners are fully prepared for and attend their interviews with employers / placement providers. Attend meetings / seminars to promote employment / placement opportunities and other provision as appropriate to your role. To handle all enquiries relating to employment / placement opportunities. To work closely with colleagues to design appropriate materials for learner engagement purposes. To attend careers fairs and any other learner events as required to support recruitment. Produce weekly / monthly performance reports for the Sales Manager as required. Other duties To contribute to the generation of new opportunities/business in general and to participate in marketing activities for all Access Trainings activities. To follow company procedures and policies including equality of opportunity, health and safety and safeguarding. To undertake any other duties/projects relevant to the post. 4 Person Specification Employer Engagement Officer Applicants must have: Experience of providing information, advice and guidance to a wide range of people A transferable skill such as interviewing, customer service or recruitment Experience of working in a target-driven environment Experience of working with employers, organisations and placement providers IT skills (databases, word processing, , internet etc.) Grade A to C in Maths and English or equivalent Driving licence and own transport The following will be helpful: A qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance Experience within a training or education environment Knowledge of government funded programmes Applicants should be able to: Communicate effectively with a wide range of people with a variety of needs. This will include listening and talking with learners to identify their needs and problems and liaising and negotiating with employers, organisations, referral agencies and other Access Training staff involved in the employment / placement process. Must be easily understood and able to get messages across diplomatically when required. Able to write accurately and concisely using existing documentation and pro-formas to good effect. Able to make effective use of IT/Powerpoint. Work as part of a team to ensure a holistic approach to the learners needs. This will include working with internal colleagues, employers, JCP and other agencies to secure the best way forward and positive outcomes for learners. Organise own workload to ensure the best use is made of time and resources. Will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic with the drive to achieve targets and ensure leaner employment / placement needs are met. This will require flexibility and willingness to change work schedules and to work evening hours as required to meet with clients, attend careers events, etc. Able to provide excellent customer care, treat everyone according to their individual needs and on occasions handle pressures such as distressed or misbehaving learners and take the appropriate action. Must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, have a lively personality and the ability to motivate learners to reach their full potential.

5 Conditions of Service Post: Employer Engagement Officer (18 month fixed term contract but could potentially be extended) Based at: Salary: Method of payment: Annual leave: Hours: Holiday year: Statutory/privilege: Probationary period: Sickness: Travel Cawley House Nottingham. Involves some travel across the East Midlands 18,504-21,920 p.a. pro rata. Salaries are paid monthly, generally the 25 th of the month, into a Bank or Building Society of your choice. For full-time, 26 days per full year, of which management reserve the right to dictate when up to 4 of them will be taken. Part time staff have pro rata entitlement to annual leave and Bank Holidays. Any holidays already planned will be honoured where possible however, where they exceed entitlement, they will generally need to be taken without pay. Full time. August to July. 8 days per year for full time (pro rata for part time) Six months Access Training has a sick pay scheme, following the satisfactory completion of probation. Access Training reimburses Casual Car User Allowance / Essential Car User Allowance and Bicycle User Allowance at the rate set by Access Training.
