2 Strategic Objectives of Position: This is a key leadership role in developing and promoting the strategic directions for the organisation that will foster and enable continuous improvement and people development initiatives by: Lead the organisation in providing best practice in human resources, planning, information communication technology, quality assurance, policy and procedure development and risk management (work health safety) and asset management initiatives that will ensure the delivery of valued and quality service focused on enhancing organisational efficiency and effectiveness. Delivering strategic and operational advice on human resource management, planning, corporate function performance of information communication technology, quality assurance, risk management (work health safety), asset management and employee relations initiatives throughout all Pathfinders operations. Providing leadership in developing and promoting a learning organisation focused on its people, the organisational culture and quality continuous improvement and learning initiatives. Review the corporate systems and practices to ensure corporate alignment between Pathfinders vision and plan through to individual performance management outcomes. Further develop policies and strategies for workforce planning, staff attraction, retention, reward and recognition. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide initiative, innovative thinking and strategic direction that will assist Pathfinders best manage its human resources, risk management (work health safety), information communication technology, asset management and quality functions Develop and implement a strategy encompassing human resource management, corporate planning, ICT, quality assurance and risk management (work health safety) which will assist Pathfinders to meet the vision and strategic objectives embraced in the Pathfinders Strategic Plan Establish and develop workforce planning initiatives. Research, design and develop proactive policy initiatives and procedures on planning, organisational performance and risk management practices.

3 Develop, implement and review a senior management succession plan and advise on strategy to overcome identified gaps. Develop an organisation culture survey, and implement strategies to narrow the gap between the desired and actual culture. Manage and lead the Corporate team to provide quality value added services in all aspects of corporate human resources, information communication technology, quality assurance, asset management and risk management (work health safety) practices across the organisation. Bench mark and measure the services provided by the corporate team to improve service delivery and performance. Provide leadership in the workplace by modelling high standards of work performance, positively influencing teams and individuals, negotiating, mediating and resolving conflict and clearly communicating the vision and values of Pathfinders. Manage and develop the staff of the team that will ensure that individual skills are enhanced and potential realised. Ensuring the effective conduct of the performance review planning and development program for all staff and effective implementation of other HR polices and procedures including risk management and work health and safety. Work with the executive group to develop and implement a leadership strategy for all second and third levels of management. Support the design of learning and development programs across the organisation that will embrace a learning organisation philosophy. Develop, implement and review Pathfinders learning and development policies and procedures in consultation with team members. Ensure equity of access of all staff to learning and development opportunities throughout Pathfinders. Ensure the production of high quality reports and Pathfinders plans within agreed timeframes. Provide advice to the CEO and executive group on matters relating to corporate areas of responsibility ie. human resources, information communication technology, asset management, quality and risk management (work health safety). Ensure the effective management and implementation of Pathfinders corporate management strategies across all Pathfinders services including the meeting of

4 legislative requirements, the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and the conduct of audits to meet the requirements of the Audit Committee. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation associated with Corporate areas of responsibility. Provide professional advice and guidance to senior management on the interpretation of legislation, awards and agreements Represent Pathfinders at arbitration and/or conciliation matters, where appropriate. Ensure that all workers are trained in legislative requirements associated with employment, which will result in a workplace free of discrimination and harassment. Practice and promote Pathfinders equal opportunity, harassment and bullying principles by treating fellow workers and clients fairly and equitably and without discrimination, harassment or bullying. Promote a positive image of Pathfinders to members of the public through professional standards of personal presentation and through the provision of services/advice in a courteous and efficient manner. Specialist Skills and Knowledge: Specialist skills and knowledge in one or more of the areas of responsibility of position. Ability to management the requirements of the position and an ability to develop, initiate and promote best practice initiatives in the field of specialisation. Effective negotiations, influencing, counselling, mediation and presentation skills. Management Skills: Ability to identify set and achieve objectives and goals, along with leading the organisation towards achieving these objectives and goals. A commitment to team management principles and practices. Proven leadership skills. Ability to develop and implement change management strategies. Sound analysis and decision making skills.

5 Interpersonal Skills Experience in leading, motivating and developing staff and other workers. High level of integrity and professionalism. Highly developed written and verbal communications skills including the ability to present complex reports at a senior management level. Strong negotiation and mediation skills. Well-developed advocacy, negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills. Qualifications, Competencies and Experience ESSENTIAL Tertiary qualification Bachelor level in Business Management/Project management or human Resource Management and minimum 5 years relevant experience. Proven experience in managing employee relations issues at a senior level. Ability to design and develop strategic initiatives based on a learning organisation and a continuous improvement models. Ability to lead the Corporate Services Team to provide quality, value added advisory services in all aspects of human resource management, information communication and technology management, quality assurance, asset management and risk management (work health safety). Highly developed interpersonal skills with a capacity to build rapport and manage relationships with a diverse range of people, using a collaborative approach to engage others and obtain buy in to new initiatives and directions. Level of computer literacy for example experience with data base applications and information systems and communication technology. Proven negotiation, influencing, mediation, counselling, presentation and conflict resolution skills. Proven leadership skills and experiences in leading, motivating and developing staff and other employees. Current NSW Working with Children Check and Criminal History Check (to be provided prior to Appointment) and current drivers licence. DESIRABLE Skills and experience in the human services industry and the non government organisation sector.
