23 AFOA Canada & CPA Canada Memorandum of Understanding Signed February 2016 at AFOA Canada Conference in Montreal Facilitate access to and success for Aboriginal students in the accounting profession by articulating AFOA s CAFM designation with CPA Canada s ACAF program. Develop means through which Indigenous culture and history curriculum might be included within components of Canadian accounting education. Establish subsequent bridging opportunities to the CPA Professional Education Program.

24 Professional Accounting in Canada CPA Designation: Canada s pre-eminent, globally recognized professional business and accounting designation Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance: Separate education program, with its own admission and assessment standards. It s designed for individuals aspiring to elevate their accounting and finance skills to an intermediate level.

The ACAF will typically build on a 2-year college diploma adding additional technical coverage, as well as communications and soft skills The ACAF will provide the job-ready skills that employers across the country value within the accounting and finance functions of their businesses.
