1 Eagle s Nest Foundation Donor and Alumni Relations Coordinator Job Announcement and Application Eagle s Nest Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, focused on the mission of: Experiential education for young people, promoting the natural world and the betterment of human character. Eagle s Nest sponsors three programs: Eagle s Nest Camp, a co-ed summer camp for children ages 6-17, Hante Adventures, an off-site adventure program for older campers, and The Outdoor Academy, a semester school for highperforming 10 th grade students from across the country. BACKGROUND The Development Office of Eagle s Nest Foundation is responsible for all fundraising and event coordination for Eagle s Nest Camp, Hante Adventures and The Outdoor Academy. Fundraising activities include an Annual Fund Campaign currently raising $250,000/year, raising and managing Endowed Funds, hosting an annual Silent Auction, three Board of Trustees meeting a year, and reunions/special events. The Development Team works with all programs to effectively tell the story and impact of experiential education and the young people who benefit from a session of camp or a semester of The Outdoor Academy (OA). POSITION SUMMARY The Donor and Alumni Relations Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position, reporting to the Development Director. The Donor and Alumni Relations Coordinator coordinates general activities of the Development office under the direction of the Development Director (DoD), including data and donor records management and assisting with mailings, communications, grants, meeting and event logistics. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Donor Relations 1. Donation & donor record management, including processing gifts updating donor records and producing revenue reports. 2. Donor stewardship including authoring professional acknowledgement letters and s. 3. Event coordination and support for donor events, dinners, Trustee meetings and Alumni/Reunions 4. Campaigns and appeals support including assisting with the Annual Fund Campaign and Grant research and applications. 5. Communications support including maintaining communications calendars and development related program updates. 6. Department administration including financial reports, deposits, file and record maintenance. Alumni Relations 1. Maintain functions of the ENF Alumni Relations Program including coordinating and planning Regional Alumni Gatherings, creating an Alumni Relations Manual and Annual Plan, and cultivating relationships with campers, students and alumni families. 2. Assist in the creation of an Online Alumni Directory and assist with Surveys General Office Assistance 1. 2 JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Communication skills: Connect effectively with staff, and maintain good communication with other departments within the organization. Organization and Attention to Detail: Able to create lists, keep track of projects and donations, and provide accurate reporting on bank deposits. Verbal and written communication skills: Able to write professional s and letters to donors and alumni, and effectively tell the story of Eagle s Nest and The Outdoor Academy. Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) , Preferred: Experience with a broadcast service (i.e. Constant Contact or icontact), database entry and donor/ constituent management software (i.e. SalesForce, RazorsEdge, etc.). EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE BA/BS or equivalent work experience Preferred: Demonstrated interest and/or experience in fundraising, alumni relations, or communications Preferred: Experience with Eagle s Nest, Hante, or OA; residential camps; or independent schools WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULE Office hours are between 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday with the exception being around events and retreats. Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekend hours as needed to fulfill program demands of the position. This position operates in a casual but professional environment and routinely requires being outside and walking across campus. The ability to work long days and occasionally lift heavy items and boxes is required. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Eagle s Nest provides a twelve-month salary for full-time, year-round employees and faculty, contributory healthcare benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, lunches when served during programs sessions, Camp and OA discounts for dependent children, and pro deals.
