This will have a positive impact on a number of groups by ensuring that public facing documents have a minimum font size, are written in an easy to read format and are bilingual. Cost of translation may increase as a result of enforcing this policy there is no change to the rules on translation but enforcement could have an impact. Translation costs are picked up by the Equalities Manager and not individual departments. Printing costs could increase as well and these costs are picked up by the individual department. Introduction An organisation s brand is so much more than its logo, name or slogan it s a reflection of its purpose and values and is derived from who it is, who it wants to be and who people perceive it to be. Presenting a consistent image to everyone is essential to having an effective brand. In order to comply with this policy, the requirements for all staff to follow have been set out in appendix A branding principles. 2. Objective Branding and communication is the responsibility of every employee of the health board. We must all ensure that we represent the health board professionally in everything we do. Our values and aims are: Improving health and wellbeing Ensuring the right access to the right services at the right time in the right place Striving for excellence Involving the people of Powys Making every pound count Valuing, supporting and developing our staff These values should be at the heart of everything that we do as an organisation. They should be referred to in documents and other publications where appropriate. 3. Responsibilities 3.1 Communications Team It is the responsibility of the Communications Team to: Ensure that all material produced by the team meets the policy requirements. Support other staff with correct implementation of the policy. 7 3.2 Head of Department Departmental Heads are responsible for ensuring that all material produced by their department meets the requirements of the branding principles. 3.3 All staff All staff must adhere to the rules set out in the branding principles (see Appendix A). 4. Monitoring Compliance, Audit & Review Monitoring of compliance will be led by the Communications Team but is the responsibility of all members of staff. Staff should feel empowered to comment on and report breaches of the policy. This document will be reviewed initially after six months and then every three years or earlier should audit results or changes to practice within PTHB indicate otherwise. 5.
