1 JOB DESCRIPTION General Information Title: Associate Expert in: Human Resources Management Duration: 2 years Date Required: ASAP Duty Station: Vienna Supervision Direct supervision by: Ms. Margarete Sobral Title of the supervisor: Director, Human Resources Services, Office of the Executive Secretary Content and methodology of the supervision: direct, frequent contact and discussion DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the overall supervision of the Director, Human Resources Services and in close cooperation with the Head, Recruitment and Staff Development Section: - Provide assistance in the design and implementation of the talent management framework of CTBTO, specifically in determining requirements for e-recruitment, e- learning, e-performance management, currently being launched by the Human Resources Services in the Organization. More specifically, the JPO would: - Assist HR Professionals in the design and management of the e-platform for the talent management framework. - Assist in researching policies, practices and best practices from other UN organizations related to the design and implementation of talent management framework. - Identify and advise on areas of improvement and best practices in the recruitment processes in both quality and quantity, including process re-engineering and automation. - Assist the HR Professionals in the development of training materials on the talent management platform to be used in the training of management and staff on the newly developed system within the Organization. - Assist the HR Professionals to conduct user testing of the platform prior to its official launch and keep record of items to be improved or further developed. - Perform other duties as assigned.

2 QUALIFICATIONS: - University degree in business administration, human resources, law or in a related field; - At least two years relevant working experience in the field of human resources management preferably in organization system improvement; knowledge of SAP/ERP would be an asset; - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. COMPETENCIES: - Professionalism Strong theoretical background and some practical substantive experience in all phases of the recruitment and automated recruitment tools; - Planning and Organizing Ability to plan and organize work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines identify priority activities and assignments and ensure efficient monitoring and implementation of work plans. - Communication Very good communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse counterparts of the Human Resources Services; - Client Orientation Identifies clients needs and matches them to appropriate solutions. Keeps clients informed of progress and delays in recruitment. Meets timeline as indicated and alerts the supervisor of any delays. - Technological awareness Actively seeks to apply technology including e-recruitment software. Shows willingness to learn new technology. - Teamwork Very good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. - Managing Performance Accurately judges the amount for time and resources needed to accomplish a task and matches tasks to skills. Monitors progress against milestones and deadlines. - Judgment/Decision making Identifies the key issues in a complex situation, and comes to the heart of the problem quickly. 3 JOB DESCRIPTION General Information Title: Associate Expert in: Information Technology/System Administration Duration: 2 years Date Required: ASAP Duty Station: Vienna Supervision Direct supervision by: Lucas Ferreira Title of the supervisor: Head Unix/Linux Support Unit Content and methodology of the supervision: direct, frequent contact and discussion DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Head, UNIX/LINUX Support Unit, to: - Provide support to the LINUX/UNIX and other Open Source systems of the Secretariat including installation, configuration, deployment and support to mass storage systems, LINUX /UNIX servers and workstations (including hardware and software), applying patches, management of file systems, system monitoring and support troubleshooting commercial, open source and internally developed applications. - Provide system failure analyses and recovery, insuring the consistency and integrity of the file system and data; - Assist in hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts; - Reconfigure the operating system and utilities in accordance with established procedures and, as directed, to evaluate and report the effects of reconfiguration on existing systems; - Troubleshoot and fix operating system or storage issues; - Provide support to the Secretariat s web application infrastructure, including Apache and Tomcat servers and F5 Load Balancers; - Troubleshoot and maintain the Secretariat s LDAP servers; - Participate in the development of the Section Business Plan as it relates to the work of the Unit; Provide input in to the preparation of the annual budget for the Unit; - Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:

4 - First level university degree in computer science, information science, computer engineering or related field; - At least two years of relevant working experience with in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, clustering and virtualization; Good knowledge in archiving and managing mass storage systems; Knowledge of web components such as Apache, Tomcat and Load Balancing devices; Knowledge of OpenLDAP servers; Relevant Red Hat Certifications are a plus; - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential. Working knowledge of one of the other official languages of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission is an asset. 7 JOB DESCRIPTION General Information Title: Associate Expert in: Public Information Duration: 2 years Date Required: ASAP Duty Station: Vienna Supervision Direct supervision by: Elisabeth Wächter Title of the supervisor: Chief, Public Information Section, Legal and External Relations Division Content and methodology of the supervision: direct, frequent contact and discussion DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Public Information Section: - Provide specialized assistance in the production and delivery of information communications products and services. - Research a broad scope of information sources, printed and electronic; compile, present and organize information for use in the preparation and production of communications products/services for external audiences. - Organize and execute special events, such as exhibits, presentations and press events, coordinating with diverse partners and the media to highlight and publicize key events. - Draft texts and articles for inclusion in the public website and online and printed brochures and publications. - Assist in the running and maintenance of the Organization s social media accounts. - Assist in the production and editing of video/film projects, radio programmes, or website projects: research diverse print and electronic information sources for topics and materials for projects; suggests ideas on content, narration texts, audio excerpts, design elements, etc.; selects and catalogues sound/ visual materials and evaluates quality for inclusion in productions, and obtains requisite clearances and copyrights; prepares detailed shot lists of video and film material; transcribes audio materials available only on audio format, etc. - Support PI Officers in evaluation and implementing recommendations and best practices. - Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: - University degree in communications, journalism, marketing, languages, film, international relations or in a related field;

8 - At least two years relevant working experience in the field of public information preferably in an international setting; experience or training in web content management systems, web design, graphic design, photography or film editing is an asset; - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
