CSCS provide services to Charles Sturt University campuses these include Wagga Wagga, Bathurst, Thurgoona, Dubbo, Orange and Canberra. CSCS is contracted to provide a range of services to the university community these include cleaning of campus research, teaching and residential facilities, a laundry service, a courier service, and maintenance services. POSITION OVERVEIW: To Motivate and lead a diverse team to achieve the successful provision of services to Charles Sturt University, whilst supporting company goals and objectives. POSITION OBJECTIVES: o To ensure services provided to the university by CSCS adhere to partnership agreements, meeting company and customer expectations. o Ensure adherence with legislative compliance and company procedures and policies. o Provide prompt and accurate reporting on Quality, WH&S, Environment, Industrial and Operational matters. o Provide leadership and promote staff engagement. 4 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Staff o Engages the workforce by interacting daily with the staff whilst performing their duties. o Attend and facilitate regular meetings with staff and direct reports. o Be actively involved in the occupational coaching of employees as required. o Facilitate and assist in the provision of induction training, on-the-job training and awareness programs. o Supervise, control and monitor all staff as needed to successfully fulfil operational requirements. o Fosters a work environment characterised by mutual respect Customer Service o Liaise with the end users as required to form relationships and build a mutual understanding of expectations. o Actively involved in quality assurance programs including the complaint handling o Provide assistance where necessary to ensure rosters are cost effective, set to cover operational requirements and payroll data truly reflects employee claims. Building, Facilities & Equipment o Provides a level of direct supervision that ensures the servicing of buildings meet company and client requirements and expectations. o Actively promote best work practise such as respecting and maintain working areas and equipment in a good and safe condition. o Manage all buildings and equipment assets in your control to ensure protection from fire, theft, damage and loss. General Responsibilities (Consist of but not limited to) o Carry out administration procedures such as payroll, stock take, and data entry as required o Assist in the development, documentation and implementation of policy, procedure and awareness programs as required. o Collate, investigate and report on Quality, WH&S, Environment, Industrial and Operation matters, identifying and highlighting focal points and areas of concern. o Maintain a good working knowledge of CSU networks, facilities, partnership agreements and software programs as required. o Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekend and public holidays Position Description Supervisor Level 4 HR.073 V002 Page 4 of 7

5 WORK HEALTH & SAFETY: All employees have a responsibility to care for and promote Occupational Health and Safety for themselves and their fellow workers. In meeting their duty of care, each employee must comply with the following criteria: o Take reasonable care to protect their safety and health at work. o Ensure that they do not endanger any other person through any act or omission at work. o Ensure that correct use is made of all equipment provided for health and safety purposes. o Obey all instructions issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others. o Ensure that they are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs while at work. o Report all incidents to their immediate Supervisor and make recommendations to their Supervisor as they deem necessary to avoid, eliminate or minimise any hazards. o Keep their work area clean and tidy. o Take immediate and appropriate action in the event of an emergency or in any circumstances that could endanger the life or wellbeing of any person o Conduct incident investigations as required, and participate in and provide all necessary documentation and support as required for insurance claims management. o Comply with all WH&S policies, procedures and safe work activities as required o Participate in risk management activities and safety activities as required by your role or nominated by your manager. o Work safely and not place yourself at risk, or any other worker or member of the public. o Conduct workplace quality, safety inspection audits using the appropriate inspection checklist, and implement actions to resolve identified hazards. JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING: o At times this position requires the incumbent to use their own judgement to prioritise the workload whilst ensuring that there is minimal impact to the client. o There are schedules to comply with but the incumbent should be flexible especially where emergency situations arise. o Effective time management skills. SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: o Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team. o Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel. 6 INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: o Excellent verbal communication skills are required with the fellow staff members, and customers o Able to actively participate and promote inclusive work practises and engage staff effectively. KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES: o Actively promotes and participates in quality engagement within the entire organisation, networks and partners o Engages the workforce by interacting daily with the staff whilst performing their duties. o The incumbent must ensure that a high standard of cost effective services are carried out using safe work methods o Timely and accurate data entry and reporting o Company benchmarks and targets met as directed o Proficient in decision, mediation and delegation skills SELECTION CRITERIA: Applicants are expected to have the following requirements to be considered for this position: ESSENTIAL o Experience leading a team o Sound knowledge and commitment to Work Health & Safety compliance, legislation and safe working practises o Sound knowledge and commitment to quality assurance programs o Proficient in the use of information technology (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) o A record of excellent work ethics (i.e. conduct, pride in work, reliable, well presented, punctual) o Ability to work effectively and efficiently both within a team and unsupervised o Good conflict resolution skills o Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills especially the ability to delegate effectively o Ability to work early morning and weekend shifts o Commitment to training and education as required maintaining and improving knowledge and skills pertinent to role o Current class C drivers licence.
