More at Department: Deposits Group, Business Control Asia Pacific Department Group Head of Deposits Group The intern will conduct a study of the Deposits Group operations covering Accounts Services, Time Deposits and Electronic Bank Services and recommend process improvements or re-engineer processes to improve process, save cost etc. To analyze and redesign workflows within and between departments in order to optimize end to end processes and automate non-value added tasks, when possible. 2. To streamline the work process and thereby achieve significant levels of improvement in quality, time management, speed and productivity. 3 3 Department: Corporate Advisory Department (CAD) Deputy General Manager, Corporate Advisory Department Collect value-added industry/company-related information through co-working with other departments, visiting customers and accessing database/website, and support senior staffs to maximize our performance. Make presentation materials/discussion papers. Translate various kinds of documents such as CAD reports, CAD presentation materials/discussion papers to Japanese/English. 4 4 Department: Non-Japanese Corporate Banking, Singapore Branch Senior Vice President Gain knowledge in the origination and execution of corporate banking transactions, credit evaluations, loan documentation, and identify ancillary fee income opportunities from corporate clients in the South Asia 9India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh) Overview of steps involved in corporate banking transactions Understanding and evaluating credit risks Overview of loan facility documentation Overview of ancillary business stemming from corporate banking products Undergraduate Degree students in Business, Accountancy All-rounder individuals

5 5 Department: Project Finance, Investment Banking Department, Asia 2 Assistant Vice President, Project Finance Assist the team in general marketing activities and market research requirements Involve in deal execution work including preparation of information memorandum, credit application and others as appropriate Perform a special project based on the intern s own research with final presentation to the team on findings and recommendations Gain exposure in both power & infrastructure and energy & natural resources projects Gain insight to Project Finance work, key trends in Project Finance and its role to key stakeholders including clients, commercial banks, other financing agencies like ECAs, multilateral agencies). Acquire the skills and knowledge specific to Project Finance such as financial modeling, credit analysis and financial structuring. Gain understanding of the power & infrastructure and energy & natural resources industries. 6 6 Department: Syndications, Investment Banking Department, Asia (SYN - 00) FVP, Syndications Job scope for the intern will be to assist on several projects that we wish to initiate/finalize but the Syndication team members have not had enough time to focus on them. These include: Work on preparing the comparative database for loans across products, countries and sectors to be used for proposals and underwrites; Improve on the functionality of the investor database and input investor information; Compile list of insurance policies which have been bound in Asia and compile copies of the documents for each of these policies; Assist with other Syndication Origination and Distribution business where required. Understanding of what factors goes into our decision to underwrite a syndicate loan and how we would price these loans Understanding on process in entering into credit insurance policies and the documentation that is involved Developing knowledge on the different types of investors in the regions for loans and their investment criteria/appetite Undergraduate in Business or Accountancy Strong familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word

7 7 Department: Syndications, Investment Banking Department, Asia (SYN - 002) SVP, Syndications (Origination) Creation of base marketing/pitch material, including a standardized Asia pitch book, and country-specific marketing pages for Indonesia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and other SEA markets. Help with credit analysis for companies and event-driven structures. Assist with other syndication origination business where required. Basic credit analysis from various angles including deal structure, financial analysis and assessment of industry trends, country risk. Datamining for relevant information using Bloomberg, Loanconnector, internal reports, and public information sources. Understanding basic (ie. Asia Pacific Loan Market Association standard) loan term sheet and its heads of terms. Understanding the flow of a syndicated loan transaction, and drivers for a successful deal Undergraduate in Business or Accountancy Strong familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel and Word

8 8 Department M&A & Sponsor Finance, Investment Banking Department, Asia Joint General Manager, Head of M&A and Sponsor Finance Assist Senior Associate with all aspects of M&A financing deal execution: financial projections, credit analysis, documentation Monitor Leveraged Finance industry Source research reports Maintain portfolio database Prepare pitchbook and client presentations Gain an appreciation of investment banking and corporate banking environment, in particular Merger & Acquisition Sponsorship Finance. Understand entire M&A financing deal process from origination to closing Gain insight of the Private Equity industry in Asia-Pacific Undergraduate in Business or Accountancy All-rounded individuals Show leadership/ sports/ clubs/ community experience Display interest in finance/ banking through past activities such as clubs or internships Have good language/ communication skills

9 9 Department: People Development, Human Resources Group Senior Vice President, Head of People Development Intern will be attached to People Development Team in HR to help out with the following initatives:. Talent Development Involve in the preparations of the roll out of the Annual Succession Planning and Talent identification Support design, development and implementation of initiatives arising from the Annual Development Plans 2. Diversity and Inclusion Provide research and analytics to the buddy program revamp for Singapore and selected branches in the APAC region Support to the implementation of the new inclusive HR policy in Singapore 3. Leadership Development Provide research, design and development of the career development talking points for managers 4. Communication Assist in the planning and communication of HR initiatives Organize the regional meetings within HR teams in the APAC region Key s for interns as follows at the end of this internship: Have a better understanding of the HR processes in a banking industry Exposure to training course contents development Opportunity to be involved in staff engagement initiatives Put to good use project management skills and presentation skills in an actual work environment Acquire a deeper understanding of HR work pertaining to the projects that the intern is involved in, from conceptualization to proposal to implementation stages.
