1 Job description 16 October 2018 International Student Recruitment Manager Context INTO is an organisation working in partnership with leading UK and US universities and investing in the development of world-class student study centres. It specialises in preparing international students for undergraduate and postgraduate study with both academic and English language support. Our Centres guarantee progression to leading UK and US undergraduate and postgraduate courses. INTO Manchester is a wholly owned INTO University Partnerships venture. Reporting line The post holder will report to the INTO Manchester Assistant Director -Recruitment. Job dimensions Based in the INTO Manchester Centre, the post holder will work closely with the Assistant Director - Recruitment to support the marketing of the Centre and recruit international students in line with Centre strategy. In support of these aims, the post holder will work with a range of different stakeholders external to the Centre, including the Global Recruitment Unit teams around the world, central Marketing teams, colleagues in our partner institutions and visitors to the Centre. Additionally, the role provides support for the Assistant Director -Recruitment by undertaking upwards of 12 weeks international travel per year to participate in recruitment activities. Key accountabilities and duties The following tasks provide a general overview of the types of activity the successful applicant will be expected to engage in on a day to day basis. The tasks are not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities, as all employees are required to be flexible, dynamic and have the capacity to think creatively when presented with challenges.

2 Student recruitment Coordinate the achievement of student enrolment targets agreed with Centre Director, Assistant Director -Recruitment and Regional Recruitment Directors by driving, supporting, training, motivating, influencing and gaining the mindshare of the INTO Global Recruitment Unit (which you do not directly manage). Undertake international travel to support in-market Centre recruitment activities, including agent training and workshops, exhibitions, and counselling prospective students and parents on the INTO Manchester proposition. Support INTO Global Recruitment staff, providing expertise on our suite of programmes and marketing collateral which meets local needs. Liaise with University International Office colleagues, accommodation, academic and support colleagues in Centre to deliver a high-quality experience for visitors to the Centre with a positive influence on recruitment. Oversee walk-in enquiries to the Centre. Manage the centre scholarship application process, including promotion of the scholarships on offer and dissemination of the outcomes to relevant parties. Marketing Working with the Assistant Director -Recruitment to develop an INTO Manchester sales and marketing strategy resulting in growth in enrolments at INTO Manchester. Work closely with University International Office and Marketing colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to the production of print and digital materials, with strong input in to the brochure production process. Create student testimonial, regional flyers and other marketing collateral as required. Delivering on key marketing projects including internal marketing in-centre, and the preparation and tailoring of materials for use in region by Centre and Regional Office staff. Work closely with central marketing colleagues, the Marketing Officer and the Assistant Director -Recruitment to ensure the Centre is well-represented in print and digital media initiatives. Liaise with Digital Marketing account manager to manage web content, ensuring it is accurate, up to date, agile and reflective of Centre recruitment priorities. Work with the Assistant Director -Recruitment to produce and manage the Centre Marketing calendar, ensuring it reflects and balances the needs and priorities of the Centre, Regional Offices and central marketing teams. Proactively identify opportunities to promote the Centre in the agent newsletter and staff intranet, disseminating good news stories in support of the Centre s strategic priorities. Relationships Cultivate and maintain solid, loyal relationships with Regional Recruitment staff and the network of agents, providing them with first class service and support and ensuring a joinedup approach to the marketing of the Centre. Develop and maintain close working relationships with our University colleagues, including international office and marketing staff. Work cooperatively and supportively with Centre staff to ensure good channels of communication and exchange of relevant data. Work closely with INTO UK Central Admissions to ensure an efficient and timely approach to the student application and enrolment process, and to provide them with excellent support from the Centre. 3 Build and maintain solid and productive relationships with central digital and print marketing colleagues, supplying relevant content to ensure the recruitment needs of the Centre are met via multiple channels. To provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders Confidence to suggest and make improvements to customer service at all levels within the organisation. To work with the Assistant Director -Recruitment to ensure that the Centre delivers an outstanding student experience as measured by our student surveys. To proactively support group planning, training and marketing team development activities and initiatives. Participate in group training and team building activities. Participate in group planning and product development initiatives. Participate in cross-network marketing initiatives. 5 Experience, skills, expertise and achievements In-depth knowledge of international student recruitment strategies Extensive knowledge of international student recruitment networks, particularly in key markets such as China, North Asia, SE Asia and the Middle East. Familiarity and experience in generating demand from a range of recruitment channels, including agents and direct recruitment. Ability to influence and motivate a distribution network which does not directly report to you. Experience in Higher Education or public sector marketing/ management/ student recruitment. An understanding of INTO Manchester s partner universities Excellent command of written and spoken English Strong presentation skills, especially to an international audience Ability to put in place procedures that are effective and efficient. Exceptional time management A problem-solving, analytical mind High level of initiative and ability to work independently to get things done, including overseas. Demonstrable ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure with defined resources Ability to be assertive and constructive as necessary, and to deal with challenging customers and stakeholders, with cultural sensitivity. Flexibility and willingness to undertake and learn new tasks and skills Excellent attention to detail Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, and to travel internationally Experience of living, working or studying overseas.
