1 CURRICULUM VITA FOR PATRICIA UWIMBABAZI A: PERSONAL DATA Name : Patricia Uwimbabazi Profession : Economist/ Microfinance Specialist Gender : Female Address : Puwim@yahoo.com B: SYNOPSIS OF COMPETENCIES Patricia is a microfinance specialist with over 13 years experience in various fields including Microfinance, agribusiness, capacity building (training, mentoring and coaching), research amongst others. She has worked with different national, international, private and nonprofit making organizations which has exposed her to all kinds of working environment. Patricia has accomplished several assignments in areas of financial analysis, course development and training, Risk management, loan management and recovery, Accounting, social performance management (SPM) product development and financial education. Some of her past jobs accomplished include but not limited to the following; Capacity building for Microfinance sector in Rwanda where she conducted a training of trainers and also provided technical assistance to the SACCO's to enable them develop skills that would help them identify customer needs and develop appropriate products and services; Development of training modules for loan officers (Loan management, Delinquency management and financial Analysis) for Rwanda Cooperative Agency; Capacity Building of Mulindi Tea Growers (MTG) SACCO, Ishema Mulindi and SACCO Tea Shagasha which involved development of tools and training of SACCO's on new policies and tools, this enabled the SACCOs improve their development strategies, Coaching and supporting them in implementation of new product with AFR support. She has gained a great wealth of knowledge working with several organisations holding different positions including; Développement International Desjardins (DID), World council of credit Unions (WOCCU), working with OIKOCREDIT, CGAP, SEEP, Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) and Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR). 2 Client Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) WCS(Wildlife Conservation Society) Assignment/ Work Capacity Building of Mulindi Tea Growers (MTG) SACCO, Ishema Mulindi and SACCO Tea Shagasha For this assignment, I participated in the following activities; Carried out interviews with the SACCOs leaders with special focus on confirming the identified gaps Developed systems (business plans, policies and procedures manuals and tools) Reviewed and developed new savings and credit products Trained, coached and mentored SACCOs on new policies, procedures and tools Trained the board of Directors and the SMT on effective governance Coaching of the 3 Saccos Institutional assessment of the 5 SACCOs that are expected to work with WCS- Identify, assess/diagnose the existing Savings and Credits product according to members needs Identify capacity/training needs/gaps of SACCOs, WCS operational staff and local communities in financial literacy and entrepreneurship as well as lending methodology, management of a guarantee fund and products development; Develop a capacity building plan for SACCOs, and targeted local communities; Identify potential loan products to offered by SACCOs based on the specific contexts (socioeconomy and the geography) of the sector and its inhabitants; Based on the above, in consultation with WCS, RDB and other partners design the operational framework for the credit guarantee fund. IUCN Evaluate the types, structure and delivery of microfinance products, and their relevance to farmers (disaggregated by gender and age) including, but not limited to, micro credit, micro savings, solidarity groups (e.g. VSLA), micro insurance, leasing, and financial literacy training. Asses the appropriateness of microfinance products and services to the needs of rural households, women and men farmers and suitability to financing FLR (Forest Landscape Restoration) initiatives. Identify financial and non-financial barriers that limit, but also enabling factors which enhance, access to microfinance for small holder farmers and community based groups especially focused on FLR, with consideration for gender and youth. Assess the business skills and level of financial education of community groups to access and manage loans and identify existing or potential barriers to accessing finance

3 Client Assignment/ Work Provide recommendations to enhance access to finance for farmers, especially small holders. CGAP Capacity building for Microfinance Sector in Rwanda I conducted a Training of trainers and put in place a pull of trainers to coordinate Capacity building activities in Microfinance Sector. On this assignment I also carried out technical assistance with the CGAP model. Other activities carried out included; coordinating Management tool development for small SACCO's non computerized; leading the implementation and follow up; Reporting to CGAP quarterly and participate in CGAP annual general meeting.
