1 Job Description Job Title: Reports to: Senior Sustainability Consultant Director - Sustainability Responsible for: Essentia Trading Business development and delivery of sustainability programme services, including large-scale energy efficiency and storage projects to external clients, including NHS organisations, the wider public sector and private sector clients Essentia Trading Ltd is a limited liability private company which is wholly owned by Guy s and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust through its commercial ventures holding company GST Enterprises. 2 Job summary The Senior Sustainability Consultant is a new post within the Essentia Trading Sustainability Team. n conjunction with the wider sustainability team, the Senior Sustainability Consultant will support ETL in achieving the overall business plan to grow and develop sustainability as a leading edge offering to external clients, including NHS organisations and private sector clients. The post holder will responsible for identifying and converting business leads and supporting clients with the delivery of Essentia s sustainability services. These include, but are not limited to; LED lighting Essentia runs a framework to guarantee savings and expedite procurement of lighting technology Energy Storage - Essentia runs the only public-sector framework to guarantee savings and expedite procurement of battery technology Energy performance contracting Essentia runs a successful and established framework for large-scale energy efficiency projects Strategic sustainability Essentia works with several public-sector clients to develop and deliver upon sustainability strategies The post holder will be expected to hold and achieve annual performance targets. The role is full-time, client facing, and the post holder will be expected to work within the sustainability team in developing sustainability expertise, processes and procedures to ensure a quality assured service delivery. The role also includes delivering presentations for new business opportunities, supported by the wider team. Key Responsibilities Business development - The post holder will be responsible for driving business devlopment, with particular emphasis on lighitng and energy storage. They will be involved in all aspects of client care, including obtaining client feedback on performance and service delivery at key stages through each commission. - Work with supply chain to take maximum advantage of business development opportunities. Service delivery - Support clients to develop viable and valuable projects - Undertake and lead the delivery of lighting and energy storage framework services - Advise and support clients throughout the process - Provide insight and support setting out project specifications - Act as the key point of contact for clients and teams related to these commissions 2

3 - Work as part of the sustainability team in developing processes and procedures to provide a quality assured service for clients - Develop enduring client relationships to secure repeat business commissions and new business opportunities Team management - Responsible for providing leadership and role modelling good behaviours - Assist in the development and management of a high performing specialist team of consultants Financial management - Support the Director to manage the profit and loss of a portfolio of projects - Lead client negotations and commercial development, as required - Deliver against project financial targets Duties and responsibilities Provide a full range of sustainability services relating to major energy efficiency/storage investment programmes as well as other relevant services to a variety of clients; Support the marketing and promotion of sustainability services, including opportunities to create content for blogs, web articles, social media, industry publications and presenting at events; Support all Company service lines in promotion and selling of integrated solutions (comprising multi-disciplinary inputs) to client organisations; mplement an approach to service delivery that focuses on Benefits Realisation at an affordable cost to the client organisation; Support the development, training and motivation of staff in the sustainability team to ensure they deliver the highest standards both individually and as a team, to achieve the quality standards in line with Company objectives, ensuring that team utilisation rates perform against target; Support in the development and improvement of current and new systems and processes to enhance programme and project delivery and provide best practice capabilities, including achieving relevant quality assurance accreditation; Be responsible with the Director and any other relevant colleagues for managing the profit and loss and financial performance of own projects, analysing performance against budget and income targets and monitoring efficiency of others on own projects; Be accountable to the Director for the service performance of commissions and client satisfaction with outcomes against agreed scope/specifications; 3

4 Lead client relationship management for individual clients focused on securing maximum repeat business commissions and the identification of new business opportunities; Assist in the preparation of tenders including bid documentation, where applicable; Ensure the use of best practice. Proactively monitor progress to ensure that all commissions are managed in line with Company Values, Standing Financial nstructions, and processes, and in compliance with appropriate legislation, statutory approvals and mandatory standards; Ensure that a professional and open culture prevails at all times. 5 Person Specification Senior Sustainability Consultant Qualifications/ Education ESSENTAL /T* DESRABLE /T* Professional qualification in service delivery related subject, educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field or with equivalent experience in a sustainability role A Relevant Master s Degree, Sustainability related qualifications, for example, BREEAM Assessor or similar A Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development A Previous experience Significant experience gained in sustainability and project environments, successfully delivering complex projects and change management programmes Experience driving business development and acting as the main point of contact with clients and external stakeholders. Experience in the management of sustainability in the public sector Understanding of public sector procurement rules in the context of energy efficiency and storage projects Experience working independently and managing personal workload Track record of building business cases and supporting clients to gain approvals. Experience and understanding of driving sustainability specific business development, including energy efficiency and storage solutions. Demonstrable track record of delivering innovation and successful outcomes Experience of presenting to clients and /or other key stakeholders Track record of successful budget management and achievement of financial targets Demonstrable experience effectively articulating key business strategy/messages to stakeholders, both written and face to face Experience speaking at/representing business offering at relevant industry events Experience with use of NHS procurement frameworks and understanding of their benefits 5
