1 Principal Adviser Eurpe, Middle East, Africa and Australia Grup The Eurpe, Middle East, Africa and Australia Grup (EMA) is respnsible fr New Zealand s engagement with the cuntries acrss these diverse regins. Its wrk is critical t securing the Ministry s fur strategic utcmes (prsperity, stability, kaitiakitanga and leadership). The Grup has primary respnsibility fr achieving the results set ut in the Ministry s Strategic Framewrk fr the EMA regin. The Principal Adviser EMA supprts the Deputy Secretary EMA and is part f the leadership team fr the Grup. The Principal Adviser is respnsible fr prviding leadership and expertise acrss strategic plicy and rganisatinal areas t enable the EMA Grup as a whle t deliver the Ministry s strategic utcmes and results. The Principal Adviser is als the lead planner fr the Grup, assists with capability develpment acrss the Grup, cntributes t MFAT-wide prgrammes and initiatives (smetimes leading n these) and leads r supprts delivery f cmplex plicy prjects within the Grup. The Principal Adviser will frm time t time deputise fr the Deputy Secretary and fr Divisinal Managers in the EMA Grup. Yu will have an pprtunity t use yur expertise in the fllwing areas: Lead strategy and plicy develpment and implementatin. Lead high-level diplmatic engagement in pursuit f New Zealand s interests. Lead and manage specific wrk prgrammes and prjects. Lead business planning and perfrmance mnitring. Lead stakehlder engagement initiatives.

3 Abut the Grup The Eurpe, Middle East, Africa and Australia Grup (EMA) is respnsible fr New Zealand s engagement with the cuntries acrss these diverse regins. Its wrk is critical t securing the Ministry s fur strategic utcmes (prsperity, stability, kaitiakitanga and leadership). The Grup has primary respnsibility fr achieving the deliverables, results and utcmes set ut in the Ministry s Strategic Framewrk fr the EMA regin. EMA has three divisins in Wellingtn and 20 verseas psts, with a ttal f arund 270 staff and an annual budget f apprx. $63 millin. Abut the Psitin The Principal Adviser EMA wrks clsely with the Deputy Secretary EMA and is part f the leadership team fr the Grup. The Principal Adviser is respnsible fr prviding leadership and expertise acrss strategic plicy and rganisatinal areas t enable the EMA Grup as a whle t deliver the Ministry s strategic utcmes and results. Lead EMA business planning and perfrmance mnitring. Lead and supprt capability develpment prjects/prgrammes fr EMA. Lead stakehlder engagement initiatives in EMA.
