7 Third Sector Early Intervention Fund Two strands Strand 1: Investing in organisations Strand 2: Investing in projects

8 Strand 1: Investing in organisations 14 million to invest in organisations that can improve policy and practice nationally and those that provide support to those delivering services to children and young people, and the families and communities that support them national delivery organisations intermediary and umbrella bodies organisations that contribute to national policy or practice

9 Strand 1 - outcomes National, strategic and infrastructure organisations can contribute more effectively to national policy and practice relating to children and young people, and the families and communities that support them or Intermediary and umbrella organisations are able to deliver more effective and sustainable services to their members working in the field of children and young people, and the families and communities that support them 9

10 Strand 1 - What can you apply for? funding to help organisations develop their capacity to deliver national outcomes and priorities can include core costs eg salaries, premises and other running costs like insurance, HR and governance. It can also fund the costs associated with expanding your core capacity Need to demonstrate how core investment will lead to better outcomes for children, young people and their families. 10

11 Strand 2: Investing in projects around 6m to fund creative approaches working directly with children and young people, and the families and communities that support them

12 Strand 2 - outcome children and young people, and the families and communities that support them, have greater access to effective services which take a preventative or early intervention approach. 12

13 Strand 2 What can you apply for? Costs associated with delivering activities Can include staff salaries, materials and equipment, volunteer expenses, travel costs and a proportion of overheads. Need to demonstrate how project activity adds value to existing services and approaches. Applications should also tell us how they fit with existing strategies and services If activities are to be delivered locally, how they fit with local priorities, including those of the Community Planning Partnership.

15 Assessment Is there a need for investment in this area? Are your activities going to achieve outcomes that address the need? Does it fit with the outcomes we have set the programme to achieve? Are you the right organisation to deliver this? (experience, knowledge, connectivity) Is the proposal well planned?

16 Application process Guidance and application form available at Deadline is 1 February Decisions by end of March Activity can start 1 April Can apply for one or both strands, but need to complete separate application forms
