Established in 1980, our collection includes the UNESCO World Heritage listed Hyde Park Barracks, The Mint, Australia s oldest surviving government building through to the twentieth century Rose Seidler House, which marks the arrival of the modernist movement to Australia. The collection is unlike other museums in that the significance of each is in the whole, and not just in the parts. The awareness of place frames each narrative. Our audiences are local, regional, national and international. Sydney Living Museums is a state cultural institution, reporting to the Minister for the Arts. The Marketing and Audience Insights Team is accountable for developing and promoting the SLM brand to drive recognition in order to grow audiences, increase revenue and value for SLM. The areas of focus for the team include; Marketing Communications (including Media and Public Relations) Audience Research (providing data, statistical analysis and research findings to inform and enhance visitation) and Membership (acquisition of new members and support of existing members) The team works across all mediums to raise awareness of the activities of the organisation, analyse visitation and market data to ensure effective decision making and allocation of resources to achieve organisational objectives in relation to sustainable membership, audience growth and brand awareness and health. Primary purpose of the role Develop and implement successful marketing and communications programs and tactical campaigns to maximise audience development opportunities and agency profile. 1

2 Key accountabilities Develop, manage and execute marketing and communications campaigns across main media, digital and below the line channels for programs, exhibitions and properties to maximize exposure for the agency. Plan and book media, prepare creative and design briefs, copywriting and content generation, manage collateral sign-off processes and image library management to enable efficient agency promotion. Work with the Marketing & Communications Managers to support cooperative marketing initiatives and cross promotions with cultural institutions, tourism providers and local government. Contribute to marketing and communications programs specifically targeting the tourism sector to improve the agency s reach and visitation. Coordinate to the agency s e-newsletter and identify opportunities to grow the subscriber database. Maintain the integrity of constituent data constituent data to ensure data is recorded accurately and updated on a regular basis. Coordinate exhibition launches to ensure appropriate levels of staff, signage and equipment requirements are met. Develop effective working relationships to identify opportunities to reach new audiences and determine new ways in which the public can engage with and learn about the agency s properties, activities and collections. Key challenges Securing internal support for the development and delivery of marketing and communications programs to facilitate and manage a variety campaigns in a deadline driven environment. Implementing effective evaluation and feedback mechanisms to ensure ongoing quality improvement in the delivery of marketing and communications activities. Key relationships Who Internal Why Head of Marketing & Audience Insight Receive strategic direction in relation to the development and implementation of campaigns that are consistent with overarching agency strategies. Marketing & Communications Managers Provide support in the delivery of digital marketing, online publicity and social media activities. Assist in the preparation of campaign budgets and reporting including management of monthly invoices. Provide support as required on other projects. Marketing & Audience Insight Team Communicate with on marketing and communication campaigns. Work with to ensure Team s targets are achieved. Direct reports Nil Budget/Expenditure Nil Essential requirements Tertiary qualifications in marketing, public relations or related discipline and a minimum 3 years experience in marketing and communications.
