The Youth Worker, Employment Pathways is responsible for actively engaging in the local community to connect with young people, focus on building rapport to build trust with local communities and young people. 3 Position Description Title: Youth Worker, Employment Pathways Division: Reports to: Careers and Industry Employment Pathways Manager 1. Overview and Objectives of the Position: The Youth Worker, Employment Pathways is responsible for actively engaging in the local community to connect with young people, focus on building rapport to build trust with local communities and young people. Objectives Provision of high-quality youth vocational and educational services Completion of the Common Assessment tool (CAT) for all new participants Actively engage with local community networks and young people to identify and engage potential participants Using a range of strategies to engage and retain young people throughout the program. 2. Key Relationships: i. Employment Pathways Manager ii. iii. iv. Youth Employment Advisor Program Manager SEE and Employment Stakeholder Engagement Managers v. External stakeholders 3. Key Result Areas: Client/Relationship Management Ensures consistent delivery of services to clients by: positively shaping the participants first impression of Government Services engaging and commencing participants in the program linking participants to critical support services or delivery partners to address identified barriers liaising closely with the Employment Pathways Manager and Youth Employment Advisor to determine the best pathway options for participants actively engaging in the local community to connect with young people and identify potential participants facilitating motivational and skills-focused workshops Page 3

4 using mobile-enabled technology and social media to communicate with participants and monitor participation Youth Employment Program Services Ensures Youth Employment Program meets the needs of clients by: completing the Common Assessment Tool (CAT) for new participants co-ordinating and engaging with delivery partners and external organisations to best meet the needs of participants using a range of strategies to engage and retain young people maintaining up to date materials and resources required for client information and referrals working closely with the Employment Pathways Manager and Youth Employment Advisor to continuously improve services to meet participants needs ensuring performance objectives are met and exceeded Reporting and Administration Recording data of Common Assessment Tool CAT into Youth Employment Program System (YEPS) within the designated time frames Maintaining referral / stakeholder database and ensuring legislative and contract privacy regulations are understood and implemented Ensuring client records and personal information are stored securely according to the Navitas English privacy policy and cooperating with other Navitas English employees and external agencies in a way which ensures Navitas English complies with privacy regulation. Professional Development Maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge and skills in the area of local Youth Employment, local and Commonwealth government services, employment pathways, the Vocational education and Training (VET) sector, and community services in the region Attending and contributing to staff meetings to ensure clients barriers, needs and interests are being addressed Liaising with and actively promoting Navitas English programs, services and expertise in professional forums, and to organisations and clients as required. Other Legislative compliance for the health and safety of staff and students at Navitas English. 4.
