1 Effective In-Company Vocational Training in the Mekong Region The 3rd Pilot Training for Master Trainers based on Standard for In-Company Trainers in ASEAN Countries SUMMARY RECORD from 4 22 April 2016 at LILAMA2 Technical & Technology College, Long Thanh, Viet Nam

2 "The broader the network, the higher the regional success" 16 Representatives of the business and public sectors from Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam are participating at the 3rd Pilot Master Trainer Training in the ASEAN Region at LILAMA2 Technical & Technology College, the becoming Centre of Excellence for TVET in Vietnam. The training course from 4 22 April has been organized in a joint venture of the Project Effective In-Company Training in the Mekong Region and the Programme Reform of TVET in Viet Nam, both implemented by GIZ. Cooperating partners are the General Directorate of Vocational Training (GDVT), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) as well as the hosting vocational college LILAMA2. It is also the very first Master Trainer training course for in-company trainers, which is being conducted in Vietnam according to the new developed standard and curriculum for In-Company Trainers (In-CT) from the Project Effective In-Company Training in the Mekong Region The standard and curriculum have been recently developed by 60 representatives of the business and public sector of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The development process of the In-CT and curriculum have been guided by the Project Effective In-Company Training in the Mekong Region with professional advisory of competent German TVET institutions like Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Due to the fact that the developed In-Company Trainer Standard and Curriculum prove their quality and applicability for satisfying the need of enterprises in all kind of business sectors, also Indonesia and Malaysia have joined the programme. Other countries have pronounced their interest. The training course focuses on building of necessary competencies of future Master Trainers for In-Company Trainers. It will improve the recognition of high-quality cooperative training between enterprises and TVET institutes. This training course will also serve to provide the recognition of the standard and curriculum by the business and the public sectors in participating ASEAN countries. In order to achieve those goals, Dr. Le Van Hien addressed in his opening speech the important role of LILAMA2 in developing the cooperative training model for Vietnam and therefore took the initiative to proudly host this event. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Van Sam, Vice-General Director of GDVT of Vietnam, focused on his opening speech on the cooperation between the business and public sector of Vietnam, which is essential for a sustainable quality improvement of vocational training and qualified human resource development in enterprises. Those topics were underlined as well by Mrs. Bui Thi Ninh, Head of Bureau of Employers Activities of VCCI and member of the steering committee for establishing the In-Company Trainer Standard in Vietnam. 1 P a g e
