5 Relevant Experience Case Studies Silent Piling (Giken) Project: Melbourne, Australia: Level Crossing Renewal Client: John Holland The Challenge: To install sheet piles in close proximity to a live railway line in extremely hard ground conditions, in a restricted area The Solution: Giken ECO700S complete with Supercrush Auger system. This solution was used because of restrictive access, noise / vibration and ground conditions. We were selected to supply this equipment, being the only sub-contractor in the UK to own this specialist plant and be able to mobilise at short notice.

6 Relevant Experience Case Studies Silent Piling (Giken) Project: Retaining wall, Heron Hill in Belvedere, Kent The Challenge: Hard sand and gravel ground conditions, limited access and close proximity to surrounding residential properties. The Solution: Using Giken's silent vibration-less pressin technology, we installed 10m sheet piles into hard ground, utilising the F301's high-pressure water jetting capabilities. Due to limited operational clearance, we pitched the piles using Movax side-grip technology, ensuring positional accuracy where a conventional service crane would have been unsuitable. Using the principle of reaction force, the Giken F301 'walks' along the pile line as it progresses, as seen here.
