3 Part 1 General Provisions Chapter Small Load Exemption minor amendment to Transport Category Table to clarify calculation for different Transport Categories. Addition of new UN numbers for Transport Category 4

4 Part 1 General Provisions Chapter Definitions Animal material clarification it includes feedstuffs derived from animals. Diameter For shells of tanks - the internal diameter. Protective lining For tanks a lining or coating protecting the metallic tank material from the substances to be carried. Does not include lining or coating used only to protect the substance Hermetically closed tank amended. Updated references to GHS, UN Manual of Tests and Criteria and UN Model Regulations.

5 Part 1 General Provisions Chapter 1.4 Carrier responsibility Carrier may rely on container/vehicle packing certificate to verify the vehicle and load have no obvious defects, leaks, cracks, missing equipment etc.

7 Part 1 General Provisions Chapter 1.6 Transitional Measures New transitional measures: Consignors do not need to appoint DGSA until end of 2022 (exceptions still apply) Ability for machinery or equipment containing dangerous goods to remain exempt from ADR despite new entries for Articles containing until end of 2022 Fixed tanks and tank-containers: Expiring transitional measures deleted Alleviations for existing fixed and demountable tanks and tank containers, from having to meet new requirements (tank special provision TU42 and TU43)

Where additional scope is added to the safety advisor s certificate, the expiry remains the same as existing certificate Chapter 1.9 Tunnel Codes Details for Tunnel Codes B and D amended to take account of UN3528 and UN3529 (Engines, internal combustion, flammable liquid/gas powered Chapter 1.10 Security Provisions Note added that States can implement additional restrictions and that explosives security marks should meet internationally harmonized standard.

12 Part 3 - Special Provisions New Special Provisions: 670 Lithium batteries in equipment from households for depollution, dismantling, recycling or disposal, not subject to ADR when: Not the main power source (e.g. dishwashers, refrigerators) Afforded protection by equipment Others (powered by lithium batteries) not subject to ADR when: Meeting P909 QA system to ensure 333kg per transport unit Packages marked LITHIUM BATTERIES FOR DISPOSAL or LITHIUM BATTERIES FOR RECYCLING

13 Part 3 - Special Provisions New Special Provisions: 671 Chemical kits or First aid kits assignment to Transport Category dependent on packing group UN3363, machinery or apparatus in accordance with (new) SP301, not subject to ADR (conditions apply) (reserved) Over-moulded cylinders periodic inspection and tests

14 Part 4 - Packing and Tank Provisions Chapter 4.1 P200 P006 & LP03 P907 (new) Note added UN specification packagings approved by non-contracting Parties to ADR may be used for carriage under ADR Updating of international standards. New, for UN3537 to UN3548 For UN3363 P911 & LP906 New, for damaged or defective lithium cells/batteries liable to rapidly disassemble, dangerously react, produce flame etc LP905 (new) For low production run and prototype lithium cells and batteries

15 Part 5 - Consignment Procedures Chapter 5.2 Marking and Labelling Note added: In accordance with the GHS, a GHS pictogram not required by ADR should only appear in carriage as part of a complete GHS label and not independently (see GHS ). Orientation arrows ( ) also required for machinery or apparatus containing liquids, when needed to ensure liquids remain in intended orientation. UN3538 to UN3548 need to bear appropriate hazard labels If they also contain lithium batteries, Class 9 LB label not required.

17 Part 5 - Consignment Procedures Chapter 5.4 Documentation (f) Note - clarification that for small loads exemption ( ), total quantity and calculated value for each transport category shall be shown on the transport document.

20 Part 9 - Construction and Approval of Vehicles 9.1 Certificates of approval for EX/III vehicles shall state: Vehicle in compliance with of ADR for the carriage of explosive substances in tanks 9.7 Clarification that fastenings for tank vehicles etc include supporting frames used for mounting structural equipment to the vehicle Requirements added for capability to absorb g-loading
