4 Safety Health & Safety Policy Statement OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) believes that our employees are our most important asset. Safety is the essence of our management philosophy. OMIES management believes that each employee has the responsibility to make the safety of our coworkers, the general public, and ourselves a basic concern. This objective is fundamental to the efficient operation of our business. In the interest of protecting the company and its employees from losses due to accidents, it is the policy of OMIES to do everything reasonable to prevent injury and damage to property and the environment. Furthermore, OMIES will comply with all applicable local, state and federal regulations relative to employee safety and health. The Director of Safety and Health, designated by the President of OMIES, will be responsible for the development, evaluation and implementation of OMIES safety program. Safety is the responsibility of every employee in the company and every employee has the responsibility to prevent incidents and injuries by observing established working rules, by following the directions of supervisors, and by providing ideas on how our safety efforts might be further strengthened through our C.A.R.E.S. program. 5 EMPLOYEE SAFETY & TRAINING OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) requires that all employees receive proper training before they are put in any situation requiring specific knowledge or hazardous situations. We conduct in house training on an as needed basis and also utilize outside training in many areas. Our minimum requirements for OMIES employees include Safety Orientation, 40 hour HAZWOPER, Confined Space, Drug and Alcohol Program, and Industrial Safety. Brief safety messages can be sent at any time via text to OMIES employees to get them thinking about safety. We want our employees to know that we care about their well-being and to inform them about what is going on that day specific to safety. The safety text is also used for severe weather information or any important safety messages such as near misses. OMIES uses the Dupont STOP Safety Observation program for supervision and peer review. Employees are encouraged to identify proper safety practices as well as practices that need to be corrected. Data received is used to update training and identify areas that need improvement. The OMIES C.A.R.E.S. program emphasizes that our employees are our most important asset. 9 STANDBY RESCUE OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) offers complete standby rescue services 24/7 that fully meet regulations for OSHA , NFPA 1006 for training and NFPA 1983 for equipment. OMIES rescue personnel work closely with our customer s safety staff and managers to effectively identify confined spaces and hazards within our customer s facility that are oxygen deficient, toxic or combustible. 10 WASTE MANAGEMENT & DISPOSAL OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) provides turnkey waste management services for managing and transporting all hazardous or non-hazardous waste streams from non-bulk to bulk packaging. We can collect representative samples of the waste streams for submittal to accredited environmental laboratories for proper analysis/ waste characterization. Once the waste stream is characterized, OMIES can ship waste to a permitted facility as designated by our customer, or if the customer does not have a facility preference, we will suggest the facility which best suits the waste stream and the customer s best interest. OMIES also has N.O.R.M. licenses in Louisiana and Texas, along with 40 hour trained Radiation Safety Officers (RSO) on staff. 11 TRANSPORTATION SERVICES OMI Environmental Solutions (OMIES) has a large, diversified fleet of trucks, trailers and equipment. With over 20 years of experience in environmental and waste transportation, OMIES has the knowledge and experience to service our customers needs. OMIES truck and equipment operators are highly trained professionals. They undergo extensive training in DOT regulations, United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and they are all fully licensed to transport hazardous materials. OMIES carefully monitors all eight U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) categories including: unsafe driving; fatigued driving (hours of service); driver fitness; controlled substance/alcohol; vehicle maintenance; cargo related issues; crash indicators; and insurance.
