Specific skills required: - cryogenic measurements in variable temperature - cryogenic measurements in variable magnetic field - micrographic geometrical analyses WP09/11/03 Magnets Detailed design of test facility Open < 250k This contract covers a short activity of nine months for the preliminary design of the cold test facilities of the TF and PF coils, namely to determine the following: - Preliminary layout of the test facilities; - Preliminary design of the cryostat, cryoplant and auxiliaries to be used for the tests; - Preliminary cost assessment for the installation of the facilities and testing of the TF and PF coils. The contract should be of interest to specialized companies in the field of cryogenics and cold test equipment, or equivalent mechanical/vacuum companies. Please note that this call is delayed because the formal decision for the cold testing of the coils, which was requested as part of the ITER Additional Direct Investments, si still pending. 2 WP10/11/10 Magnets Poloidal Field Coils PF2 to PF6 - Tooling Open > 1 M This contract covers the supply of 5 ITER Poloidal Field coils (PF2 to PF6), which will be manufactured in a dedicated winding building at the Cadarache site. The supply will cover the detailed design of the tooling and equipment for manufacture, the production of workshop drawings, all the necessary qualification tests and the manufacture of dummy double pancakes to validate the manufacturing processes and procedures, followed by the manufacture of the multipancake NbTi coils with conductors supplied by CN, EU and RF and the final acceptance tests (cold test not included, probably subject of a separate contract to be placed later). The call-for-tender will be launched for the whole supply, including the first stage of manufacture (qualification) as a fix requirement, but with the following stages indicated as options. This supply will be of interest to electro-mechanical companies specialized in magnet production. WP10/11/12 Magnets Procurement for Testing of TF Nb3Sn Strands Open > 1 M This contract consists in a series of measurements of the standard strand characteristics (critical current, RRR, etc.) during the mass production of 95 tons of Nb3Sn wire for the ITER TF coils. Two supply contracts have been awarded to OST and Bruker EAS and these companies are responsible for the standard testing during production. But F4E is requested to carry out independent measurements on a statistical basis to guarantee the quality of the production, for about four years duration. This activity could be of interest to laboratories in Associations (in France, Italy, Germany etc..) or industry (including but not limited to cryotechnics experts) which are equiped with high field, small bore magnets capable to perform these measurements. WP10/11/01 Magnets Testing and Characterisation of PF strands Open 250k < S < 1M The scope of the contract is the supply of the ITER Poloidal Field Coils 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 WP10/11/09 Magnets Magnet Structures:precompression rings Open > 1 M Preapred by F4E - BI group 2/5

3 WP10/32/04 Tritium Procurement for Conceptual and detailed design of WDS Negotiated 250k < S < 1M This contract will cover both conceptual and detailed design of the Water Detritiation for ITER WP09/32/02 Tritium Conceptual design of emergency tanks for WDS Open < 250k This contract will cover specific aspects of the conceptual design of the tritiated water holding tanks for the Water Detritiation for ITER WP10/32/06 Tritium Conceptual and Detailed design of ISS Open 250k < S < 1M WP09/56/02 Test Blanket Module Development of fabrication procedure specifications. Fabrication of TBM box components feasibility/test mockup Open > 1M The contract will cover: - the supply of services for the development of fabrication procedure specifications for the Test Blanket Modules (TBM) steel box - the fabrication and characterization of Feasibility Mock-Ups for the TBM box subcomponents. - the supply of TBM box Test Mock-Ups (to be confirmed). WP10/56/05 Test Blanket Module Fabrication of welded sampled for irradiation Open < 250k Fabrication of EUROFER welded samples in view of their neutron irradiation (non included in the present scope) for the qualification of their mechanical properties. The welding techniques to be used are (to be confirmed in the technical specification): TIG, laser, hybrid MIG/laser, mixed laser/hip, HIP and Electron Beam Preapred by F4E - BI group 3/5

4 WP09/31/01 Vacuum Pumping Detailed design and specificaiton for the CVBs and cryojumpers Open 250k < S < 1M The contract will cover: - completion of the simulation of the performance of all ITER Cryopumps, Cold Valve Boxes and Cryojumpers under all IO operation shenarios. - determination of heat loads and thermodynamic characteristics of all interfaces as well as all sizing parameters of the system apart from the Cryopumps, considering also all relevant safety issues and events. The required skills are: good analytical capability on thermodynamic and fluid simulations as well as understanding of IO vacuum system and operation parameters/requirements are required. WP10/31/03 Vacuum Pumping Procurement of PPC and test vessel Open > 1 M To manufacture a 2.1x1.8 m cylindrical cryopump and an associated test vessel for acceptance tests, on a basis of build-to-print drawings.. General mechanical engineering/ manufacturing skills will be required, while knowlegge and experience of vacuum and cryogenic technology will be a particular advantage. 5 WP09/PO/01 Quality Assurance Service of inspectors for ITER project contracts follow-up Open > 1 M The call for tenders is aimed to award a framework contract for the provision of Quality and Surveillance Resident Services, Itinerant and Spot Surveillance Inspectors at the premises of several EU Suppliers selected by F4E in the procurement of services and components for the ITER. Professionals with technical skills and experience covering, inter alias, the following areas are requested: - Technology and metallurgy of welding processes, thermal treatment, non destructive examination methods, technology of fibre reinforced materials for high temperature application, measurament of composite material properties, quality control.
